The New England Patriots own the NFL postseason of the last 27 seasons. From the 1999 playoffs through the 2025 playoffs, they won 33 playoff games, 13 more than any other franchise. They played in 10 Super Bowls and won 6. The table below shows every club’s playoff record over the same span, 309 games in all.
Playoff wins, appearances and Super Bowls by team, 1999–2025
What the table shows
The New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers share the most playoff seasons, 19. Every franchise reached the playoffs at least once in this span, and every franchise won at least one playoff game. 13 different franchises won the 27 Super Bowls.
11 franchises have not played in a Super Bowl since the 1999 season: Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, and Washington Commanders. The fewest playoff wins belong to the Cleveland Browns (1), the Detroit Lions (2), and the Miami Dolphins (2).
Win percentage tells a different story from total wins. Clubs with deep runs pile up wins quickly, because a Super Bowl champion that starts in the Wild Card round wins four games in one postseason. A team that loses one playoff game a year for a decade can have more appearances and fewer wins.
How WHYNFL counted
Records cover the 1999 through 2025 postseasons in the WHYNFL results archive. Relocated franchises are counted as one club: the St. Louis and Los Angeles Rams, the Oakland and Las Vegas Raiders, and the San Diego and Los Angeles Chargers. The Houston Texans joined in 2002. “Playoff seasons” counts seasons with at least one playoff game. Each row’s last game links to its Game Center.
