The New York Jets play in the AFC East. This hub brings together the club’s official roster, player profiles, and related coverage.
The roster at a glance
The source lists 77 active, practice-squad, and reserve-list entries after released and transferred entries are excluded; 54 carry its ACT designation. An active-roster label is not a guarantee that a player will dress for a particular game.
Linked player names below open individual profiles. The roster was checked on September 20, 2026. It is a dated roster snapshot, not a game-day inactive report.
Were the Jets once called the Titans?
Yes. New York’s American Football League team began playing in 1960 as the Titans of New York. New owners renamed the club the Jets in 1963. The name changed before the stadium did: the first Jets season was still played at the Polo Grounds, with the move to Shea Stadium following in 1964.
Those New York Titans were not the franchise now based in Tennessee. The Tennessee Titans began as the Houston Oilers, moved to Tennessee in 1997 and adopted the Titans name in 1999. An old New York Titans result belongs in Jets history, not Tennessee’s record.
From New York stadiums to New Jersey
Polo Grounds, 1960–1963: the original home in Manhattan, spanning the Titans years and the first Jets season.
Shea Stadium, 1964–1983: the club’s main home in Queens.
Giants Stadium, 1984–2009 seasons: the Jets moved to East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The current shared stadium, from 2010: the Jets and Giants moved into a new building in East Rutherford, initially called New Meadowlands Stadium.
MetLife opened in 2010 but received that name in 2011
New Meadowlands Stadium became MetLife Stadium in August 2011. That was a naming change, while the 2010 move from Giants Stadium involved a different building. Old references to New Meadowlands and MetLife can describe the same venue; a reference to Giants Stadium describes the previous one.
The Jets and New York Giants share MetLife, but remain separate NFL teams. The New York name does not place the stadium inside New York City: the venue is in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Check the stadium location when planning a visit rather than relying on the team name alone.
The results archive below begins in 1999, covering the later Giants Stadium seasons and the current-stadium era. It does not reach back to the Polo Grounds or Shea years.

LIVE DATAUpdated Oct 8, 2026, 11:20 pm EDT
Play and drive totals cover 50 completed games across 32 teams. Games counted can differ by team. Rates use summed outcomes and opportunities; no minimum attempts apply. A missing value in any counted game withholds that metric. These are dated covered-game figures, not a complete season.

Time of possession

First downs count the play record's total flags, including recorded penalty awards; they can differ from drive summaries. Conversion attempts use recorded converted and failed down flags, including flagged kneels. Nullified downs, punts and field goals are not inferred attempts.
Inside-20 drives have a recorded down starting closer than 20 yards from the opponent's goal line. Reaching only the 20 is excluded. Only touchdowns for the possessing team on those drives count. This definition is not an official league red-zone ranking.
Possession includes overtime. Time is minutes:seconds; per-game time is rounded to the nearest second. Possession share divides the team's recorded seconds by the full elapsed time of its counted games, including overtime. Rates use summed opportunities and zero opportunities have no percentage. Equal displayed values share a rank; rankings describe only the matching supplied teams. — = not supplied.
Regular-season record and points; postseason shows how each run ended. Expected W is the win total implied by points scored and allowed (Pythagorean expectation, exponent 2.37); the small figure is actual minus expected, where +1 or more suggests close-game luck. From WHYNFL's results archive, which begins in 1999, counted by franchise (Raiders include Oakland, Chargers San Diego, Rams St. Louis). Splits cover the regular season and playoffs: night games kick off at 7 pm Eastern or later (games without a listed kickoff are left out), and one-score games are decided by 8 points or fewer.
