Trevor Lawrence threw three touchdown passes, Bhayshul Tuten had career highs in rushing and receiving yards, and Rayuan Lane III returned an interception 92 yards for a touchdown as the Jacksonville Jaguars routed the Indianapolis Colts 42-7 on Sunday, November 1, at EverBank Stadium.
Jacksonville, coming off its bye, improves to 5-2 and leads the AFC South by three games. It has won 12 straight home games against Indianapolis and seven straight regular-season home games overall. The Colts, who traded DeForest Buckner and Quenton Nelson last week, fall to 2-6 and have lost four in a row.
A 98-yard opening statement
Lawrence opened with a 12-play, 98-yard drive that ended when he found Brian Thomas Jr. alone in the back of the end zone for a 12-yard score on third-and-goal. It was a welcome moment for Thomas, who had recently been benched.
The second quarter turned on a trick play that went wrong for Indianapolis. Jonathan Taylor lost the ball on a botched exchange near midfield, and Bryan Thomas Jr. recovered. Four plays later, Lawrence hit rookie tight end Nate Boerkircher for a 31-yard touchdown and a 14-0 lead. Jacksonville lost nose tackle DaVon Hamilton on the Taylor fumble; he was carted off and is expected to miss the rest of the season with a torn quad.
Fourteen points in the final two minutes
Tuten broke three tackles on a 39-yard touchdown run with 1:51 left in the half for a 21-0 lead. Indianapolis got a break when Jaylen Tuimoloau strip-sacked Lawrence and Caden Curry recovered at the Jacksonville 38, and Daniel Jones drove the Colts to the 17. With 10 seconds left, Lane cut in front of a throw for Tyler Warren at the 8 and went 92 yards the other way. Jacksonville led 28-0 at halftime.
Chris Rodriguez Jr. ran 28 yards for a touchdown on third-and-1 midway through the third quarter. Jones found Josh Downs for a 6-yard score to avoid the shutout, but Lawrence answered with a 25-yard screen to Tuten on the final play of the third quarter. Branson Combs intercepted Jones early in the fourth, and Anthony Richardson finished the game at quarterback for Indianapolis.

What it means
The Jaguars wore their new “Bold City” rivalry uniforms and have outscored opponents 271-75 during their seven-game home winning streak. “Good teams don’t think about the division lead they have in November,” Lawrence said. Besides Hamilton, safety Eric Murray (elbow), edge rusher Travon Walker (ribs) and right guard Ezra Cleveland (ankle) were hurt during the game. We have what Liam Coen, Tuten and Lawrence said after the game.
“It’s embarrassing,” Taylor said of the Colts’ performance. Indianapolis has lost 13 of its last 15 games and has not won in Jacksonville since 2014.
What comes next
Jacksonville has a short week before visiting the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night. Indianapolis hosts the Dallas Cowboys next Sunday.
