The Chicago Bears activated linebacker Noah Sewell from the reserve/PUP list on Saturday, making him available for Sunday’s game at Green Bay, the team announced. Sewell has not played since tearing his Achilles in Week 17 of last season.
Chicago opened Sewell’s practice window on Sept. 23 and had until Oct. 14 to activate him. A 2023 fifth-round pick out of Oregon, Sewell made the first nine starts of his career last season while Tremaine Edmunds and T.J. Edwards combined to miss 11 games, finishing with 59 tackles and three tackles for loss in 13 games. If he plays Sunday, he would back up Edwards and Devin Bush.
The Bears also elevated running back Zavier Scott from the practice squad with Kyle Monangai ruled out by thumb and toe injuries. Scott, who ran for 114 yards on 32 carries for the Vikings last season, adds depth behind D’Andre Swift for a Chicago team that leads the NFL in rushing at 196.3 yards per game, per Pro Football Rumors.
