October 2 update: Donald ruled out

Aaron Donald will miss the Rams’ October 4 game at Philadelphia with a back injury after sitting out all three practices this week.

On offense, Puka Nacua has no game designation after a full Friday practice.

October 1 update: Donald’s return is complete

Aaron Donald made his 2026 season debut against the Giants on September 21, starting in the Rams’ 28-6 win at SoFi Stadium. He finished with three tackles, including a tackle for loss on third down that helped hold New York to a field goal.

The appearance completed the return he had targeted after coming out of retirement. His pregame plan is no longer an unresolved availability question.

What the comeback added

Donald returned while Myles Garrett was on injured reserve following knee surgery. His first game back gave Los Angeles another proven presence on the defensive front, although one performance does not establish what his workload will be over the rest of the season.

After the game, Donald said he had technical details to clean up, including how quickly he won one-on-one matchups. The next stage of his comeback is his performance after returning to action.

The why matters.
