October 2 update: Nacua has no game designation
Puka Nacua practiced fully Friday and carries no injury designation for the Rams’ October 4 visit to Philadelphia. Sean McVay said the receiver will play after missing two games.
Earlier in the week, McVay pointed to a successful Sunday workout and Wednesday walkthrough as reasons for his optimism. The coach described Nacua’s progress after the receiver missed the Week 2 game against the Giants and the Week 3 game against the Broncos.
A second major target for Stafford
Nacua caught five passes for 74 yards in the season opener against San Francisco. The team has listed a hip issue, while McVay has also described groin soreness.
His return gives Matthew Stafford another established target alongside Davante Adams. Nacua finished the 2025 regular season with a league-leading 129 receptions, 1,715 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
Adams has shouldered much of the receiving load during Nacua’s absence. Across the past two games, he and Stafford have connected 15 times for 332 yards and two touchdowns. Nacua’s availability gives defenses another receiver to account for rather than leaving Adams as the clear focal point.
How his practice week developed
Davante Adams returned to full participation Thursday after Wednesday’s rest day. That is a separate development from Nacua’s limited work with a hip injury; the two receivers were not on the same practice schedule.
His Friday status supersedes the uncertainty earlier in the week. It does not specify his snap count.
