Tuesday brought the first real sign that Micah Parsons is close. Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur, who had answered the weekly question about Parsons practicing with a flat no for a month and a half, said “I sure hope so” when asked about next week. The same day, the Cincinnati Bengals put tight end Erick All Jr. on injured reserve with what is believed to be a third tear of the ACL in his right knee, the New York Giants put running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, and Ian Rapoport said he expects Lamar Jackson to play for the Baltimore Ravens in Buffalo on Sunday.

  • Packers: Micah Parsons “has a chance” to start practicing next week; Matthew Golden, Travis Glover, Zaire Franklin and Sean Rhyan missed a second walk-through before Thursday night
  • Bengals: Erick All Jr. on injured reserve, believed to be his third torn right ACL
  • Giants: Tyrone Tracy Jr. on injured reserve with a hamstring injury; Gregory Desrosiers signed
  • Ravens: Lamar Jackson expected back against the Bills, with Wednesday’s practice the next test
  • Panthers: no one ruled out yet for Thursday; Jaelan Phillips, Damien Lewis, Torricelli Simpkins III and Akayleb Evans still not participating

Micah Parsons: “I’m saying there’s a chance”

Parsons tore the ACL and meniscus in his left knee on Dec. 14 last season and had surgery two weeks later. He has spent all of this season on the physically unable to perform list, and he will miss an eighth game on Thursday night. LaFleur admitted his answer was different this time. “It is,” he said. “At the end of the day, that’s the medical. I’m itching for it, though, for sure.” Pressed on whether Parsons could practice next week, he said: “I’m saying there’s a chance.”

Green Bay did not open his practice window this week on purpose. With a Thursday game, the Packers are holding only walk-throughs, and once a player on the list returns to practice the team has 21 days to add him to the active roster or put him on injured reserve. Even if Parsons practices next week, he is unlikely to play at the New England Patriots in Week 9. Rob Demovsky noted that the Packers host the Minnesota Vikings in Week 10 and then have their bye, so the first game after the bye, at the Los Angeles Rams, is a realistic target. Parsons had 12.5 sacks last season before he got hurt in Week 15.

Matthew Golden and the right guard question

The Packers held another walk-through on Tuesday and filed an estimated report. Receiver Matthew Golden (shoulder, foot), right guard Travis Glover (knee), linebacker Zaire Franklin (shin) and center Sean Rhyan (ankle) would not have practiced. Defensive tackles Devonte Wyatt and Anthony Campbell, both with ankle injuries, moved up to limited, and edge rusher Brenton Cox Jr. was added as limited with a quadriceps injury.

Golden leads the Packers with 68 targets and drew 12 of them in Detroit on Sunday. “I sure hope so,” LaFleur said when asked whether Golden will play, “but we’re still kind of working through it. You’re not getting any real reps. Everything’s pretty much walk-through. We will have a short indy tomorrow, but to move guys around and see how they look, but certainly hopeful for him.”

LaFleur said Glover did not report his knee injury to the team until Monday. If he cannot play, 36-year-old Kevin Zeitler could make his first start for Green Bay. “If we need him, absolutely,” LaFleur said. “Here’s a guy that came in and didn’t have an offseason, didn’t have training camp, and he’s kind of gradually working his way back into it.” Asked directly whether Zeitler would start, he said: “You shall see.” LaFleur also would not commit to John Williams at center in place of Rhyan, who Matt Zenitz reported will miss at least four weeks. Jager Burton and Donovan Jennings are the other options. Franklin, who has a hairline fracture in his leg, will not be ready for Thursday, LaFleur said.

Carolina’s Tuesday report was unchanged at the top. Edge rusher Jaelan Phillips (hamstring), guards Damien Lewis (knee) and Torricelli Simpkins III (ankle) and cornerback Akayleb Evans (triceps, knee) were again listed as not participating, while defensive tackle Bobby Brown III, receiver Jalen Coker and quarterback Bryce Young were full. Dave Canales said no one has been ruled out. More from Canales on the Panthers’ short week is here.

Packers vs. Panthers: Tuesday report for Green Bay

Thursday’s game kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET, which is 2:15 a.m. Friday in Cairo after Egypt ends summer time. Both teams release their final reports with game statuses on Wednesday afternoon ET, late Wednesday night in Cairo. Scott Novak’s crew has the game.

Erick All Jr.’s third torn ACL

The Bengals moved All to injured reserve on Tuesday after more tests on the right knee he hurt in Sunday’s 35-13 win at Baltimore. Rapoport reported that All is believed to have torn his ACL again. He first tore it at Iowa in 2023, tore it again midway through his rookie season in 2024 and missed all of 2025. He had eight catches for 56 yards in six games this season, three of them for 26 yards on Sunday. Sunday’s Bengals injury report is here.

Cincinnati signed tight end Cam Grandy from the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad, put Josh Kattus on practice squad injured reserve and added Caden Prieskorn to the practice squad. With Tanner Hudson also on injured reserve, Grandy joins Mike Gesicki, Drew Sample and rookie Jack Endries before Sunday’s home game against the Tennessee Titans.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. goes on injured reserve

Giants general manager Joe Schoen said on Tuesday that Tracy is going on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. Jordan Raanan reported that it is not a long-term injury, but Tracy must now miss at least four games. That leaves Cam Skattebo, who ran for 124 yards in Sunday’s overtime win in Houston, and Devin Singletary, whose 30-yard run ended it. The Giants also signed running back Gregory Desrosiers from the Los Angeles Chargers’ practice squad.

Lamar Jackson expected back in Buffalo

Jackson has missed three straight games with a high ankle sprain, and the Ravens went 1-2 without him. Rapoport said on Tuesday that he expects Jackson to play against the Bills, adding that Jackson “is believed to be as close to 100 percent as he has been.” Coach Jesse Minter has been more careful. He said Monday that Jackson is in a “decent spot” and that the team will know a lot more on Wednesday, when Baltimore starts its practice week. Jackson was limited all last week and still ended up inactive against Cincinnati. Rookie guard Vega Ioane will miss time with an MCL sprain. Our Ravens injury update is here, and every Week 7 diagnosis is in Monday’s roundup.

What to watch on Wednesday

Most teams file their first Week 8 injury reports on Wednesday afternoon ET. The main names are Jackson in Baltimore, Saquon Barkley (back, hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (hamstring) in Philadelphia, Jaylen Waddle (chest) and Zach Allen in Denver, Breece Hall (quadriceps) with the New York Jets, Jeremiyah Love (ankle) in Arizona and Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) in Detroit. The Seattle Seahawks plan to open Jadarian Price’s practice window when their week starts on Thursday.

The why matters.
