The New Orleans Saints re-signed cornerback Decamerion Richardson on Tuesday and made room by waiving cornerback Jayden Price and receiver Brock Rechsteiner and terminating the contract of long snapper Cal Adomitis, general manager Mickey Loomis announced. The club also released running back Ulysses Bentley and receiver Trey Palmer from the practice squad.

Price pays for the kickoff fumble

Price was waived two days after he fumbled the opening kickoff of the second half in Sunday’s 23-13 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He made three tackles in five games and played 112 special-teams snaps after earning a roster spot out of training camp.

Rechsteiner, an undrafted rookie from Jacksonville State, never played for New Orleans. He was on the reserve/suspended list while serving a six-game league suspension. He is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner.

Adomitis had signed on September 23 after the Chicago Bears signed Scott Daly off the Saints’ practice squad, filling in while regular long snapper Zach Wood was on injured reserve with a calf injury.

Richardson returns to the 53

Richardson, 6-foot-2 and 192 pounds, was a fourth-round pick (No. 112 overall) by the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024 out of Mississippi State. He played 27 games with seven starts for Las Vegas, recording 46 tackles and 11 special-teams tackles, including 10 in 2025, second on the Raiders. New Orleans was awarded him off waivers at the end of the preseason, and he has one special-teams tackle in two games for the Saints.

Wednesday: Austin back, Hunter added, Wood’s window opens

On Wednesday the Saints signed receiver Kevin Austin Jr. and running back Jarquez Hunter to the practice squad. Austin, waived on October 10, has spent the past three seasons in New Orleans, appearing in 20 games with three starts and catching 25 passes for 298 yards and a touchdown. He has one catch for 7 yards in four games this season.

Hunter was a fourth-round pick (No. 117) by the Los Angeles Rams in 2025 out of Auburn, where he finished fourth on the school’s career rushing list with 3,371 yards and 25 touchdowns. He played five regular-season games and one playoff game as a rookie, was acquired by the Miami Dolphins at the end of training camp and spent the first five weeks on Miami’s practice squad before his release Tuesday.

The club also designated Wood to return from injured reserve after he practiced fully Wednesday, opening his 21-day window. The Saints visit the New York Giants on Sunday.
