Week 8 of the 2026 NFL season has 14 games over five days, opening with the Carolina Panthers at Lambeau Field on Thursday, October 29, and closing with the Chicago Bears in Seattle on Monday, November 2. In between sits a Sunday night NFC East game the league chose to keep, and the first Sunday of the season played on standard time.
Four teams are idle: the 49ers, Giants, Saints and Texans. Clocks in the United States go back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, so the Sunday and Monday times below are Eastern Standard Time. The Sunday afternoon games on CBS and FOX are regional, so the game on a local station depends on the market.

The storylines
Philadelphia and Washington keep the Sunday night slot. The league let its Week 8 flex deadline pass on Tuesday, October 20, without moving the game at Northwest Stadium. Rob Tornoe reported that the NFL gave serious thought to putting Cleveland’s trip to Pittsburgh in prime time instead, and Ben Standig and Scott Abraham both reported that the original game would stay. A wide-open division helped: the Giants went into Week 7 leading the NFC East at 3-2-1, with the Eagles and Cowboys at 2-4 and the Commanders at 1-4-1.

Philadelphia will again be without Jalen Hurts, whose stay on injured reserve with a blood clot in his calf runs at least until the Eagles’ Week 10 bye, so Tanner McKee is the quarterback in line to start. Washington comes in rested after its Week 7 bye but without receiver Terry McLaurin, whose season is over.
Chicago’s long wait for Monday night. Chicago opened Week 7 with a 30-24 Thursday win over New England and then gets 11 days before the trip to Lumen Field, the middle game of three straight prime-time dates. Seattle is finishing a run of its own: after an overtime loss at Denver on a Thursday and a Sunday night home game against Kansas City this weekend, the Bears game is its third night game in a row. The Bears make the trip without tight end Cole Kmet, whose season ended with a knee injury against New England.
Steelers home from Paris. Pittsburgh plays the Saints at Stade de France on Sunday, October 25, then flies back to host Cleveland a week later in an AFC North game between two teams that were both 4-2 going into Week 7. The Saints, the designated home team in Paris, go straight into their bye.
A Lamar Jackson watch in Buffalo. Baltimore has ruled Jackson out of Sunday’s game against Cincinnati with a high ankle sprain, the third straight game he will miss. Whether the two-time MVP is back for the trip to Highmark Stadium is the first question of the Ravens’ week. The Bills come in off their Week 7 bye.
Division tests in the afternoon. The unbeaten Minnesota Vikings visit Ford Field at 1 p.m., the first of two meetings with Detroit after the teams were also given a Sunday night date in Week 15. At 4:25 p.m., the Kansas City Chiefs, who are also unbeaten, visit Denver after their Sunday night game in Seattle this weekend. The Miami Dolphins, still looking for a first win, host New England at the same time.
No travel in Los Angeles. The Chargers and Rams meet at SoFi Stadium, the building both teams call home, with the Rams as the home side in the 4:05 p.m. window.
What comes next
The Sunday night game remains open to flexible scheduling, and afternoon network assignments can still shift. WhyNFL will update this schedule if the league moves a game, and the Thursday, Sunday night and Monday night previews will follow during the week. The Week 9 Thursday game is Jacksonville at Baltimore on November 5.
