Referee Adrian Hill is back on the field for Week 6, closing the slate Monday night in Santa Clara, after sitting out one game for unprofessional conduct toward a player. The Week 6 referee assignments also put Brad Rogers on Thursday night in Denver and leave line judge Jeff Seeman still serving the second game of his two-game ban.
Hill returns on Monday Night Football
Hill will work Commanders at 49ers on Monday, October 19 (8:15 p.m. ET). The league suspended him one game after Week 4, when he appeared to yell at Minnesota linebacker Eric Wilson following an accidental collision in Miami. That ban covered Week 5. Our earlier story on the Seeman and Hill suspensions has the full context.
Seeman, who drew a two-game suspension for an on-camera exchange with Cardinals tight end Trey McBride during the Giants–Cardinals game in Week 4, is still out this week. Week 6 is the second game of that ban. Brad Allen, Alex Moore and Ron Torbert are also off the slate this week.
Thursday and Sunday primetime
Thursday, October 15: Brad Rogers has Seahawks at Broncos at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video, the Week 6 opener in Denver.
Sunday night: Craig Wrolstad has Cowboys at Packers at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.
The rest of the Week 6 slate
Sunday’s afternoon and London games (all times Eastern):
- Shawn Hochuli — Texans vs. Jaguars in London, 9:30 a.m.
- Scott Novak — Bears at Falcons, 1 p.m.
- Carl Cheffers — Ravens at Browns, 1 p.m.
- Bill Vinovich — Titans at Colts, 1 p.m.
- Clete Blakeman — Jets at Patriots, 1 p.m.
- Alex Kemp — Saints at Giants, 1 p.m.
- John Hussey — Panthers at Eagles, 1 p.m.
- Land Clark — Steelers at Buccaneers, 1 p.m.
- Clay Martin — Cardinals at Rams, 4:05 p.m.
- Alan Eck — Chargers at Chiefs, 4:25 p.m.
- Shawn Smith — Bills at Raiders, 4:25 p.m.
Land Clark’s crew last worked the Seahawks–49ers game in Week 5, which ended with a close spot on Cooper Kupp near the first-down marker after review. That same game also saw San Francisco linebacker Dre Greenlaw ejected after a headbutt; the league office ordered the disqualification under a new rule that lets New York eject a player for a non-football act even when no flag is thrown on the field. Greenlaw’s one-game suspension was later upheld on appeal, so he will miss Monday’s game against Washington — the same night Hill returns as referee.
What it means
Week 6 is the first full slate after the rare public discipline of two officials. Hill is back for a national window; Seeman still sits. Fans watching Thursday night in Denver get Rogers’ crew, while Monday’s Commanders–49ers matchup pairs Hill’s return with Greenlaw’s absence.
