Jack Aaron’s new first-round 2027 mock draft, published Saturday, October 31, has four quarterbacks in the first round, and neither Arch Manning nor CJ Carr is one of them.

Aaron used the draft order from his outlet’s mock draft simulator. Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith goes first to the Los Angeles Chargers, LSU left tackle Jordan Seaton goes second to the Tennessee Titans and Oklahoma State’s Drew Mestemaker is the first quarterback off the board at No. 3 to the Miami Dolphins. Texas receiver Cam Coleman is the surprise at No. 4 to Washington.

The last column shows where each player went in Jacob Infante’s first-round mock from the same site on October 24.

Seaton at 2, and the Titans’ two picks

Aaron calls Tennessee’s season “a disaster” but says it is hard to put all the blame on Cam Ward, pointing at left tackle Dan Moore Jr., “arguably the worst left tackle in football.” Seaton, a Colorado transfer measured at 6-foot-5 and 307 pounds, went seventh in Infante’s mock. The Titans also pick 28th with the Bears’ pick from the Jeffery Simmons trade and take Miami defensive tackle Justin Scott to replace him.

Four quarterbacks: Mestemaker, Mensah, Chambliss and Moore

Mestemaker goes third to Miami, where Aaron writes that “the Malik Willis experiment in South Florida has not worked” and the Dolphins could get the franchise quarterback they have been looking for since Dan Marino. The New York Jets, with the Colts’ pick at No. 7, take Miami’s Darian Mensah, 18 spots higher than Infante had him. Arizona follows with Ole Miss’ Trinidad Chambliss at No. 8 as the eventual successor to Jacoby Brissett.

Oregon’s Dante Moore, whose season is over after his concussion, is the last pick of the round at No. 32 to Minnesota, where Aaron writes Kyler Murray has not done enough to secure his status beyond 2026. Moore was not in Infante’s first round.

Manning is out of the first round, as he was in Infante’s mock. Carr, who went 11th to Cleveland in that mock, and Missouri’s Austin Simmons, who went 10th, are also left out.

Coleman at 4 and three picks for the Jets

Coleman, 15th in Infante’s mock and off Mel Kiper Jr.’s latest top 25, goes fourth to Washington after Terry McLaurin’s season-ending injury. Aaron admits the pick “could be considered a projection,” but cites Coleman’s rare speed at 6-foot-3 and his ball tracking.

The Jets have three first-round picks: Mensah at 7, Georgia cornerback Ellis Robinson IV at 11 and South Carolina edge rusher Dylan Stewart at 12 with the Cowboys’ pick, a partner for David Bailey. Texas edge rusher Colin Simmons, third in Infante’s mock, slips to sixth to Philadelphia, and Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore goes ninth to Tampa Bay.

Texas tackle Trevor Goosby is still in the round at No. 15 to Atlanta despite his season-ending knee injury, and Tennessee defensive tackle Xavier Gilliam, sixth on Kiper’s latest board, lasts until No. 27 to Denver, with Aaron noting he “may rise up the boards.”

The draft runs April 29 to May 1 in Washington.
