The Miami Dolphins claimed edge rusher Jamree Kromah off waivers on Friday, October 30, a day after the Chicago Bears let him go to make room for Jeffery Simmons. Miami waived edge rusher Rob Beal Jr. to open the spot.

The Indianapolis Colts signed defensive tackle Kevin Givens off the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad, three days after trading DeForest Buckner to San Francisco. The Tennessee Titans filled Simmons’ place on the 53-man roster by promoting Timmy Horne, and the Carolina Panthers added a sixth cornerback to their practice squad. The trade deadline is Tuesday, November 10, at 4 p.m. ET.

The moves that matter

Kromah lands in Miami. Kromah, who went undrafted out of James Madison in 2024, had played in Chicago’s last two games and made two tackles before the Bears waived him on Thursday. Adam Schefter noted that the Dolphins have now claimed 15 players off waivers since the start of training camp, and they have 14 rookies on their active roster. Simmons was introduced in Chicago on Friday, as our Simmons story reports.

Campbell comes back. Miami also re-signed guard DJ Campbell to its practice squad two days after waiving him from the 53-man roster. He cleared waivers on Thursday. Tackle Gottlieb Ayedze was released from the practice squad to make room.

The Colts take a 49ers veteran after the Buckner trade. Givens spent eight seasons with San Francisco after signing as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State in 2019. The Colts said he played in 71 games with 14 starts and had 95 tackles and eight sacks, plus nine playoff games. The 49ers released him from their practice squad on October 24 and signed him back on October 27. He is the second player Indianapolis has added to the 53-man roster since trading Buckner and Quenton Nelson on Tuesday, after tackle Charlie Heck on Thursday. Horne’s busy week in Tennessee. Horne was promoted to the active roster on October 24, released on October 28, signed to the practice squad on October 29 and promoted again on Friday, taking the roster spot Simmons left behind. The Titans also signed linebacker Dominique Hampton to the practice squad. Hampton was with Tennessee in training camp before going on injured reserve in August.

The Panthers keep stacking cornerbacks. Carolina signed Caelen Carson, a 2024 fifth-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys out of Wake Forest, to the practice squad. The team said he has played in 17 games with eight starts. He takes the practice squad spot Malcolm DeWalt IV left when he was promoted on Thursday, and gives the Panthers six cornerbacks on the practice squad. Will Lee III injured his hamstring in Thursday night’s loss at Green Bay, as our injury roundup explains. Carolina also fired defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero on Friday and gave the play calling to Todd Wash, as our Panthers story reports.

What comes next

Most clubs make their game-day practice squad elevations and late injured reserve moves on Saturday afternoon before Sunday’s games. Carolina has not said whether Lee will go on injured reserve. Colts coach Shane Steichen confirmed on Friday that receiver Josh Downs has asked for a trade, which keeps Indianapolis at the center of the deadline talk. Our Friday game-status roundup has the weekend’s injury designations, and any Saturday moves will be in our next roundup.
