Surgery ends Slater’s season
The Los Angeles Chargers placed left tackle Rashawn Slater on injured reserve after he underwent surgery, knocking one of the league’s top young offensive linemen out for at least the next four games.
Slater, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, had been the anchor of the Chargers’ offensive line. The team did not immediately disclose a timeline for his return beyond the injured-reserve minimum.
Chargers line reshuffled
Los Angeles faces the Denver Broncos on Sunday without Slater and will need to adjust its protection plan. The Chargers have already been managing multiple injuries along the offensive line this season.
