Friday’s final designations settled the Week 9 board that Thursday’s injury roundup left open. TreVeyon Henderson revealed a multi-day hospitalization for unexplained neurological symptoms and is out against Green Bay, A.J. Brown is also out while Hunter Henry is questionable, Garrett Wilson was ruled out at Kansas City with Breece Hall set to return, Saquon Barkley practiced for a second straight day, and Myles Garrett is on track to come off injured reserve for the Rams.

  • Patriots: Henderson OUT after a medical emergency and official statement; Brown OUT; Henry questionable
  • Jets: Wilson OUT (concussion) and Wallace OUT (groin); Hall full on Friday and expected to play
  • Eagles: Barkley practicing again; Smith and Wicks still out of practice Friday
  • Rams: Garrett on track to activate from IR for Sunday at Washington
  • Also: Watson questionable after returning to practice Friday; Bam Knight OUT for Arizona

Patriots: Henderson’s medical update, Brown out, Henry questionable

Henderson posted an official statement explaining that what the Patriots had listed as an illness was an unexpected medical emergency involving unexplained neurological symptoms that required several days in the hospital. He said extensive testing came back “positive and reassuring” but that the cause remains unknown, and that the symptoms have affected his strength, coordination and some physical functions. He asked for privacy while he works with specialists and physical therapists.

Mike Vrabel later confirmed the Week 9 designations for Sunday against the Packers: Brown (ankle, knee), who has not practiced this week, will not play, Henderson is out, and Henry (foot) is questionable after being present for Friday’s media-access period following consecutive DNPs Wednesday and Thursday.

Jets: Wilson out, Hall expected back

Aaron Glenn ruled Wilson out for Sunday at Kansas City after the wide receiver stayed in the concussion protocol and did not practice for a third straight day. The club also said linebacker Trevin Wallace (groin) will not play. Hall, listed with a quad injury after a five-game absence, was a full participant Friday after saying Thursday he will play, giving New York its lead back even as its top receiver sits.

Eagles: Barkley back on the field, Smith and Wicks still out

Barkley practiced for a second straight day after Thursday’s limited session and Wednesday’s DNP for a hamstring and back. Smith (hamstring) and Wicks (ankle) were again not practicing Friday and remain on track to miss a third consecutive game against the Giants, with Philadelphia’s final designations still to post after practice.

Rams: Garrett on track off IR

Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported that Garrett, working back from knee surgery that put him on injured reserve, is on track to be activated ahead of Sunday’s game at Washington after practicing all week, with all indications pointing toward him playing.

What comes next

Watch for the remaining official Friday game statuses from Philadelphia and the rest of the Sunday slate, any further Henderson timeline once he continues specialist work, and whether Garrett is formally activated. Minnesota already locked in Carson Wentz for Monday Night Football with Kyler Murray week-to-week; no new Hamilton hip update has surfaced since Baltimore’s Thursday night loss.
