Trevor Lawrence threw for 242 yards and a touchdown, Cam Little made all four of his field-goal tries and the Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Baltimore Ravens 33-10 on Thursday night, November 5, at M&T Bank Stadium.
Jacksonville improves to 6-2 and has won five of its last six. Baltimore falls to 4-5 and has lost four straight, including three in a row by at least 20 points for the first time in franchise history. With Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley both landed on injured reserve after last week’s loss, undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano started again and completed 10 of 18 passes for 60 yards with two interceptions.
Jacksonville sets the tone early
The Jaguars opened with a 77-yard touchdown drive in 3:40. Bhayshul Tuten finished it with a 1-yard run for a 7-0 lead, and Lawrence said afterward that scoring on the first possession was exactly the tone they wanted on a short week. Baltimore answered with an eight-play drive that ended in a 53-yard Jake Moody field goal, then Jacksonville pushed the lead back to 10-3 on Little’s 36-yard kick.
The Ravens spent long stretches in Wildcat looks with Derrick Henry taking direct snaps, a plan Jacksonville coach Liam Coen said his staff had practiced heavily. Baltimore converted a fourth-and-1 near midfield in the second quarter but still had to punt, and the half stayed within reach until Lawrence found Parker Washington deep down the left side for a 50-yard touchdown with 58 seconds left. Jacksonville led 17-3 at the break.
Turnovers and kicks pull it away
Fagnano’s first interception came on the opening series of the second half, when Montaric Brown picked him off near midfield. Little immediately hit a 45-yard field goal for a 20-3 lead. Jacksonville then coughed one up when Travis Hunter fumbled after a short catch and Teddye Buchanan recovered at midfield, but Baltimore failed on fourth-and-1 after aborted snaps by Fagnano and Mark Andrews, and the home crowd started to boo.
Little added kicks of 47 and 33 yards in the fourth after Jourdan Lewis intercepted another Fagnano throw intended for Zay Flowers. A fumbled kickoff return by LaJohntay Wester, reversed to a Jacksonville recovery after a challenge, set up Chris Rodriguez Jr.’s 2-yard touchdown run that made it 33-3 with 7:26 left. Justice Hill broke free for a 65-yard touchdown on the next snap, Baltimore’s only touchdown of the night, and finished with 85 rushing yards on nine carries.
The numbers
- Trevor Lawrence: 16 of 26 for 242 yards and a touchdown, no interceptions, not sacked. He was sharp on the late first-half strike to Washington and finished with a 105.0 rating.
- Cam Little: 4 of 4 on field goals from 36, 45, 47 and 33 yards, plus three extra points for 15 points.
- Jaguars receivers: Jakobi Meyers had four catches for 65 yards. Washington finished with two for 61 and the long touchdown, and tight end Nate Boerkircher also had two for 61.
- Jaguars run game: 77 yards on 30 carries. Tuten scored the opener on 12 carries for 29 yards; Ameer Abdullah added 30 yards on seven carries and Rodriguez scored from the 2.
- Joe Fagnano: 10 of 18 for 60 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions, sacked once by Foyesade Oluokun. Henry completed one rush-pass for minus-3 yards.
- Ravens ground game: 172 rushing yards. Hill’s 65-yard score ended Jacksonville’s 24-game streak of not allowing a 75-yard rusher. Henry ran 17 times for 57 yards.
- Turnovers: Baltimore lost the ball three times (two interceptions and Wester’s kickoff fumble). Jacksonville lost Hunter’s fumble but still outgained Baltimore 319-227 and held the Ravens without a red-zone snap.
What it means
Coen said Lawrence was “extremely sharp” while the game was still competitive early, and the Jaguars did not need flashy plays against a depleted Baltimore roster. Jacksonville’s defense limited the Ravens to 55 net passing yards and forced them into 4 of 14 on third down. For context on how this short week started, see Week 9 injury notes on Tuten, Walker, Wiggins and Hamilton after their 42-7 win over the Colts.
Baltimore’s problems go beyond one Thursday night. Jackson is out after thumb surgery, Huntley is also on IR, and the club’s quarterback plan now includes waiting on veteran help while Fagnano deals with an ankle issue of his own. Starting cornerback Nate Wiggins was inactive with an illness, and star safety Kyle Hamilton left with a hip injury during the game. The Ravens also fell a 36-10 loss at Buffalo a week ago. Details on the IR moves are in Thursday’s transaction report.
What comes next
Jacksonville visits the Tennessee Titans on November 15. Baltimore hosts the Los Angeles Chargers on November 16.
