The first three-round 2027 mock draft built after the Jeffery Simmons trade gives the Tennessee Titans Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore at No. 2 and then uses Chicago’s first-round pick, now theirs, on the player who could replace Simmons in the middle of their defense: Tennessee defensive tackle Xavier Gilliam at No. 25.
Five draft analysts, Rob Gregson, Travis May, Kyle Crabbs, Tyler Forness and Ryan Roberts, took turns making the picks for the mock, published Thursday afternoon, October 29, hours after the Titans agreed to send Simmons to the Bears for Chicago’s 2027 and 2028 first-round picks and a 2027 fourth-rounder. There were no trades in the mock. Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith goes first to the Miami Dolphins, which Gregson calls a homecoming for the South Florida native and a “slam-dunk No. 1 overall pick.”

The Titans’ two first-rounders
At No. 2, the pick is Moore, described as the most well-rounded cornerback the writers have seen in years, with the physical tools, sticky coverage and athleticism to be a lockdown corner. At No. 25, the explanation is simple: with Simmons in Chicago, there is “a massive need” for the Titans at defensive tackle, and Gilliam, a dynamic penetrator with loads of upside, would play next to John Franklin-Myers. Tennessee adds LSU edge rusher Jordan Ross at No. 34 and quarterback Brendan Sorsby, who is not playing this season, at No. 66.
Chicago’s first pick comes at No. 57 in the second round, where the Bears take Notre Dame edge rusher Boubacar Traore. They add USC tackle Elijah Paige at No. 89.
Sellers is the first quarterback
The biggest departure from other recent mocks is at quarterback. South Carolina’s LaNorris Sellers goes third to Arizona, with the pick explained by the arm talent of the quarterbacks Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur worked with in his last two stops, Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford, and by Sellers being “an insane athlete to boot.” Miami’s Darian Mensah goes 10th to the Cleveland Browns as the most efficient passer in the country this season.
Oklahoma State’s Drew Mestemaker, the first quarterback in seven of the eight mocks in our latest consensus count and third overall in Josh Edwards’ October 28 mock, falls to No. 18, where the New York Jets take him with their third first-round pick. The write-up calls him a player with “the kind of traits that you dream of for a starting quarterback” who is still rough around the edges and relatively inexperienced, with Geno Smith as a possible bridge.
Every quarterback in three rounds
| Pick | Quarterback | School | Team |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | LaNorris Sellers | South Carolina | Arizona Cardinals |
| 10 | Darian Mensah | Miami (FL) | Cleveland Browns |
| 18 | Drew Mestemaker | Oklahoma State | New York Jets |
| 38 | CJ Carr | Notre Dame | Indianapolis Colts |
| 46 | Trinidad Chambliss | Ole Miss | Pittsburgh Steelers |
| 66 | Brendan Sorsby | Not playing in 2026 | Tennessee Titans |
| 71 | Conner Weigman | Houston | Minnesota Vikings |
| 72 | Jayden Maiava | USC | New Orleans Saints |
Texas’ Arch Manning, Oregon’s Dante Moore and Missouri’s Austin Simmons are not among the 96 picks. Notre Dame’s CJ Carr, who went seventh in Edwards’ mock, lasts until the second round at No. 38 to Indianapolis. Sellers was fourth and Mestemaker first in Troy Finnegan’s quarterback rankings this week.
Other notable picks
The Jets also take Becker at No. 4 and South Carolina edge Dylan Stewart at No. 6 with the Colts’ pick, giving them two of the first six selections before their quarterback at 18.
The Chargers take Texas edge Colin Simmons at No. 5, with the writers expecting this to be Khalil Mack’s final season in Los Angeles.
LSU tackle Jordan Seaton goes seventh to Philadelphia as the replacement for Lane Johnson, and Utah tackle Zereoue Williams goes 16th to Carolina.
Clemson cornerback Ashton Hampton, called the best corner in the country this year with a completion rate allowed below 40 percent and 10 passes defended, goes 12th to Tampa Bay.
Texas tackle Trevor Goosby, who was carted off earlier this season, falls to No. 62 to Kansas City.
