The Dallas Cowboys will have linebacker DeMarvion Overshown and cornerback Cobie Durant back on Monday night in Philadelphia, after both came through a week of full practices and carried no designation on Saturday’s final injury report.

The 2-4 Cowboys have spent most of the season patching a defense that has been short of starters since September, and Monday’s game against the 2-4 Eagles is a chance to climb back into an NFC East race in which nobody has pulled away.

Who is back, who is out

Overshown hurt his hamstring in the opener against the New York Giants. He was a full participant from the first practice of the week and now returns for his first game since then. Durant’s hamstring injury came in Week 2 against Washington; he returned to practice on a limited basis on Thursday, his first work in four games, and was upgraded to full on Friday. The club said both practiced fully more than once and are medically cleared.

Receiver George Pickens (shoulder) and cornerback Joey Porter Jr. (ankle) also have no designation. Pickens was limited on Thursday before a full session on Friday, when tackle Tyler Guyton (calf) and edge rusher Marist Liufau also moved up to full work and Von Miller had a scheduled rest day.

Three players are out. Receiver and returner KaVontae Turpin (ribs), linebacker Dee Winters, who strained his Achilles against Green Bay, and tackle Drew Shelton (hamstring) did not practice all week. Tackle Broderick Jones was added on Friday with a wrist injury and was limited.

Two questionable players are still on injured reserve and would need to be activated before kickoff. Liufau (forearm) opened his 21-day practice window on Thursday and went from limited to full. Safety P.J. Locke (foot) was limited on Friday in his first practice since his window opened.

What it means in Philadelphia

Overshown and Durant give Dallas speed at linebacker and another cover man on the outside, which matters with Winters out for at least this week. Without Turpin, Dallas also needs someone else to return kicks and punts.

The Eagles are in worse shape. They have ruled out their two leading receivers, DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Dontayvion Wicks (ankle), along with edge rusher Nolan Smith (concussion) and safety Michael Carter II, and Saquon Barkley (hamstring) is questionable. Tanner McKee starts at quarterback with Jalen Hurts on injured reserve. The full Philadelphia list is in our Eagles injury report.

What comes next

The Cowboys play the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Monday, October 26, at 8:15 p.m. EDT; follow it in the Cowboys-Eagles Game Center. Inactive lists arrive 90 minutes before kickoff. Dallas then hosts the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, November 1. Every designation is on the injury report.

The why matters.
