Several more players were ruled out for Week 8 late on Saturday, after the final injury reports had come out. The Atlanta Falcons downgraded four players to out for Sunday’s game at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers: linebacker Divine Deablo, defensive back Billy Bowman Jr., receiver Beaux Collins and tackle Cameron Williams. The Philadelphia Eagles ruled out cornerback Jakorian Bennett for Sunday night, and the Washington Commanders, their opponent, will again be without defensive tackle Jer’Zhan Newton.

  • Falcons: Deablo (forearm) and Bowman (hamstring) will miss a second straight game, and Collins and Williams will stay on injured reserve for now
  • Eagles: Bennett practiced fully all week but has not been activated from injured reserve
  • Commanders: Newton (pectoral) was downgraded from questionable, which leaves Washington without three of its defensive tackles, including Daron Payne, whose season ended with a foot fracture
  • Chiefs: rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane (shoulder) was ruled out for Denver, and L’Jarius Sneed went on injured reserve

Falcons rule out Deablo, Bowman, Collins and Williams

Deablo and Bowman were both questionable on Friday’s report, and both missed last week’s win over the San Francisco 49ers. Running back Brian Robinson (hamstring), who was already ruled out on Friday, is out again too. Atlanta used standard practice squad elevations on running back Khalil Herbert and linebacker Brian Asamoah II for the second week in a row.

The team’s website says rookie Kendal Daniels is likely to keep the green dot as the defensive play caller without Deablo, with fellow rookie Harold Perkins Jr. starting next to him at inside linebacker. Sydney Brown played most of the nickel snaps last week, and Avieon Terrell, who missed the 49ers game with an illness and was limited all week, is questionable. Collins (hip) and Williams (ankle) are still in their 21-day practice windows, so they can be activated in a later week. Kickoff in Tampa is 1 p.m. ET Sunday, which is 8 p.m. in Cairo.

Eagles keep Jakorian Bennett on injured reserve

Bennett, who is recovering from a knee injury, was a full participant on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but the Eagles chose not to activate him to the 53-man roster. Philadelphia opened his 21-day practice window on October 14, so it has until early next week to add him to the roster or leave him on injured reserve for the rest of the season. The Eagles were already without DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, Britain Covey, Jonathan Jones and Jihaad Campbell, and they elevated running back Elijah Mitchell and linebacker Mason Reiger from the practice squad.

Jer’Zhan Newton is out for Washington

Newton tore his pectoral in Washington’s preseason finale and was limited in practice all week, and coach Dan Quinn had said the Eagles game could mark his return. The Commanders elevated defensive tackle Byron Cowart from the practice squad instead. With Payne out for the season and Javon Kinlaw (knee) already ruled out, Tim Settle, Shy Tuttle and Cowart are the interior linemen available for Sunday night. Kickoff is 8:20 p.m. ET, which is 3:20 a.m. Monday in Cairo.

What to watch on Sunday

Inactive lists come out 90 minutes before each kickoff. Jaylen Waddle, Zach Allen, Trent McDuffie, George Pickens and Breece Hall are among the questionable players still waiting on a decision. Seattle has until Monday to activate rookie running back Jadarian Price for the Bears game. Saturday’s earlier injury news is here, and Saturday’s roster moves and elevations are here.
