Updated October 11, 11:50 a.m. EDT: inactive lists confirm Williams sits, while McLaurin and Tate are active; Washington is also without Stefon Diggs.

Caleb Williams is officially inactive for the Chicago Bears at Green Bay, while Terry McLaurin will play for the Washington Commanders against the New York Giants and Carnell Tate is active for the Tennessee Titans against the Houston Texans, according to the inactive lists released 90 minutes before the 1 p.m. EDT kickoffs on Sunday, October 11.

Williams carried a questionable tag into the weekend, but Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday morning that the quarterback was targeting a return next week instead, and Rapoport added after the list came out that Williams has a chance to play next Sunday. Tyson Bagent starts at Lambeau Field.

Bears: Bagent starts, Williams eyes Atlanta

Williams has been sidelined by a grade 2 hamstring strain since he went down in the fourth quarter of the 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on September 20. He returned to practice in a limited role on Friday for the first time in nearly three weeks, which earned him the questionable tag, but head coach Ben Johnson had already named Tyson Bagent the starter for Green Bay. Rapoport’s report points to the October 18 game at the Atlanta Falcons as the realistic target.

Chicago is also without running back Kyle Monangai, who has a toe injury, and linebacker Keyshaun Elliott, who has a quad injury. D’Andre Swift is expected to lead the backfield.

Commanders: McLaurin cleared, Diggs and three safeties out

McLaurin missed the Week 4 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in London with a hamstring injury and sat out practice on Wednesday and Thursday before working on a limited basis on Friday. Head coach Dan Quinn said afterward that the receiver looked good, and John Keim had reported late Saturday that the call would wait until game day.

Washington’s inactives are Diggs, whom Quinn had already ruled out with a hamstring injury that kept him from practising all week, backup quarterback Marcus Mariota, safeties Tyler Owens, Nick Cross and Percy Butler, lineman Tanoa Togiai and defensive end Charles Omenihu. Losing three safeties leaves the Commanders thin at the back in a rain-soaked game against the Giants.

Washington gets quarterback Jayden Daniels back from his elbow injury for the division game at Northwest Stadium.

Titans: Tate plays through a sore back

Tate, the rookie receiver, was added to the injury report on Thursday with a back problem and was limited in both of the final two practices. Head coach Robert Saleh played the issue down as a bout of tightness, and Jeremy Fowler had reported on Sunday morning that Tate was trending toward playing against the Houston Texans at Nissan Stadium, and he is not on Tennessee’s inactive list. He is coming off his best game as a pro, nine catches for 145 yards in the Week 4 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

The Titans will be without running backs Nicholas Singleton and Michael Carter, tight end David Martin-Robinson, tackle Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, defensive lineman Jackie Marshall, cornerback Jaylon Jones and safety Amani Hooker.
