The Minnesota Vikings signed wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Jeshaun Jones to their practice squad on Wednesday, October 7. The team also designated center Michael Jurgens and tight end Ben Yurosek to return from injured reserve.

Beckham reunites with familiar coaches

Beckham previously worked with Kevin O’Connell and Wes Phillips during the Rams’ Super Bowl-winning 2021 season. He caught 21 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns in that postseason.

The veteran’s move to Minnesota is a practice-squad signing. It does not establish an active-roster spot or a role in the next game. Jones also joins the practice squad after making his 2026 debut against Miami.

Minnesota’s receiving options

Beckham caught no passes in three Giants games. Minnesota needs depth while Justin Jefferson manages an ankle injury.

Two players take a step toward returning

Jurgens and Yurosek missed the first four games before receiving their return designations. Those designations allow a return to practice; they are not announcements of activation or game clearance. Minnesota has not established either player’s next-game availability through these moves.

The why matters.
