The Houston Texans activated receiver Tank Dell from injured reserve on Saturday, October 24, clearing him for his first game in 22 months, and the Detroit Lions brought back safety Brian Branch from the physically unable to perform list 11 months after he tore his Achilles tendon. The New York Giants activated cornerback Paulson Adebo and put linebacker Tremaine Edmunds on injured reserve, Dan Duggan reported, and the Green Bay Packers activated running back Josh Jacobs from exempt status.

The activations that Friday’s releases set up all came through: guard Anthony Bradford in Seattle, receiver Christian Kirk in San Francisco and running back Jordan Mason in Minnesota. The Denver Broncos activated Jonah Coleman and Jonathon Cooper, the Pittsburgh Steelers activated safety DeShon Elliott for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints in Paris, and the Baltimore Ravens placed outside linebacker Tavius Robinson on injured reserve. No trades were reported. The trade deadline is Tuesday, November 10, at 4 p.m. ET.

The moves that matter

Tank Dell is back. Houston activated Dell from injured reserve ahead of Sunday’s game against the Giants, as head coach DeMeco Ryans said it would on Monday. Dell has not played since he dislocated his knee and tore several ligaments late in the 2024 season, an injury that kept him out of all of 2025. The Texans put him on the reserve list at roster cutdowns this summer, and he returned to practice almost two weeks ago. “I just expect Tank to be himself, no huge expectations,” Ryans said earlier in the week. “We all know Tank is an explosive player, still quick as ever.” Houston also elevated cornerback Bryce Hall and linebacker Kenneth Murray from the practice squad.

Houston Texans on X

Lions get Branch and Mays. Detroit activated Branch from reserve/PUP and center Cade Mays from injured reserve, and both were taken off the game status report for Sunday’s game against the Packers. Branch, a Pro Bowl pick in 2024, tore his Achilles tendon in December and missed the first six weeks of this season. His return helps a secondary that ranks last in the league in passing yards allowed per game. The Lions opened the practice windows for both players on October 7, and head coach Dan Campbell said on Monday that the team planned to play both.

Detroit Lions on X

Giants swap Adebo for Edmunds. New York activated Adebo, one of five Giants cornerbacks on injured reserve, according to Dan Duggan, and placed Edmunds on the list in a corresponding move. Edmunds tore a chest muscle and is out for the season. Fellow defender Chauncey Golston, already on injured reserve, is also done for the year. Adebo went on the list before the Week 2 game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Packers activate Jacobs and Riley. Green Bay general manager Brian Gutekunst announced that Jacobs was activated from exempt status and defensive tackle Jordon Riley came off reserve/PUP. The Packers also signed receiver Coleman Owen to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. Owen, a first-year player out of Ohio University, returned a punt 16 yards after being elevated for last week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. Edge rusher Arron Mosby was elevated for Sunday.

Seahawks, 49ers and Vikings complete Friday’s moves. Seattle activated Bradford, who has not played since the Week 1 win over the New England Patriots, and waived receiver Montorie Foster Jr. to make room. Bradford has 39 starts in 43 career games. Cornerback Trevon Diggs, re-signed to the practice squad on Friday, was elevated for Sunday night’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs along with linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo. San Francisco activated Kirk from injured reserve and removed his questionable status for Sunday’s game at the Atlanta Falcons. The 49ers also brought pass rusher Ogbo Okoronkwo back on the practice squad a day after releasing him, released defensive lineman Kevin Givens from the practice squad and elevated Okoronkwo and linebacker Jalen Graham. Minnesota activated Mason, who has no injury designation for Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, re-signed DeeJay Dallas to the practice squad and elevated him.

Minnesota Vikings on X

Broncos get Coleman and Cooper back. Denver activated running back Coleman from injured reserve and outside linebacker Cooper from the commissioner’s exempt list before Sunday’s game at the Arizona Cardinals. Running back Tyler Badie and outside linebacker Jonah Elliss went on injured reserve and can return as early as Week 12 against the Steelers. Head coach Sean Payton indicated this week that Elliss’ injury is not expected to end his season. Coleman had 58 scrimmage yards and a touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2 before he got hurt, and Cooper has had at least eight sacks in each of the last three seasons. Safety Taylor Rapp and defensive back Sean Fresch Jr. were elevated.

Denver Broncos on X

Ravens lose Robinson. Baltimore placed Robinson on injured reserve with a season-ending pectoral injury and promoted guard Kyle Hergel from the practice squad. Outside linebacker Adisa Isaac was elevated for Sunday’s home game against the Cincinnati Bengals, which quarterback Lamar Jackson will miss with a high ankle sprain. Our story on Jackson being ruled out has more.

Baltimore Ravens on X

Chiefs fill their open spot. Kansas City signed running back Jaydn Ott to the active roster from the practice squad, activated linebacker Cooper McDonald from injured reserve and placed running back Brashard Smith on injured reserve. Receiver Justin Watson was elevated for Sunday night in Seattle.

Kansas City Chiefs on X

Elliott and Terrell return. Pittsburgh activated Elliott, who opened the season on injured reserve with a hamstring injury and missed the first six games; our Steelers story has Mike McCarthy’s comments from Paris. Atlanta activated cornerback A.J. Terrell Jr., who missed four games with a groin injury, placed tackle Michael Jerrell on injured reserve with a biceps injury and signed edge rusher Drake Jackson to the 53-man roster after two straight elevations.

Elsewhere. Cleveland activated running back Dylan Sampson, who hurt his knee in the season opener at Jacksonville, and placed guard Teven Jenkins on injured reserve with a back injury. The Miami Dolphins activated safety Kyle Louis, the New York Jets signed linebacker Jaden Keller and put linebacker Kiko Mauigoa on injured reserve, and the Carolina Panthers swapped linebackers, activating Bam Martin-Scott and placing Thomas Incoom on the list. Arizona promoted running back Evan Hull and released safety Wydett Williams, Tennessee promoted defensive tackle Timmy Horne, and the Colts released veteran punter Thomas Morstead from their practice squad.

Week 7 practice squad elevations

Each team can elevate two practice squad players for a game, and a player can be elevated three times a season before he has to be signed to the 53-man roster. These are the Saturday elevations that clubs had announced by early evening ET.
