A rushing and receiving foundation at Texas

Robinson won the 2022 Doak Walker Award and earned unanimous first-team All-America honors in his final season at Texas. He rushed for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns, adding 19 receptions for 314 yards and two scores. That receiving contribution was already part of his college profile: across three seasons, he caught 60 passes for 805 yards and eight touchdowns alongside 3,410 rushing yards.

The Atlanta Falcons selected him eighth overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. His rookie season produced 976 rushing yards and 487 receiving yards, setting a franchise rookie record with 1,463 yards from scrimmage. His 58 receptions also set Atlanta’s rookie running-back record. The combined total helps explain his immediate contribution more fully than the rushing figure alone.

A larger rushing workload in 2024

Robinson’s carries increased from 214 as a rookie to 304 in his second season. Those 90 additional attempts accompanied a rise to 1,456 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns in 2024. He remained involved in the passing game, catching 61 passes for 431 yards, but most of the year-to-year increase in his production came on the ground.

Receiving growth behind the 2025 breakthrough

His third season followed a different pattern. Robinson’s rushing total rose by 22 yards to 1,478, while his receiving yardage increased by 389 to 820. Those contributions combined for an NFL-leading 2,298 yards from scrimmage in the 2025 regular season, a new Falcons single-season record. Receiving growth accounted for most of the improvement over his second year.

In Week 17 against the Los Angeles Rams, he scored on a 93-yard run, the longest rushing touchdown in Atlanta history. On January 10, 2026, he received his first AP All-Pro recognition: first team at running back and second team as an all-purpose player. The two selections reflected the rushing and receiving production that had developed together from Texas to Atlanta.
