The Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Philadelphia Eagles 19-17 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, October 11, recovering from a seven-point halftime deficit behind a two-touchdown game from Parker Washington.

Washington caught six passes for 124 yards and both of Trevor Lawrence’s touchdown throws. Lawrence finished 24 of 39 for 331 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Jacksonville outgained Philadelphia 408-232 and held the ball for 35:02.

Jacksonville reverses the halftime score

The Eagles led 14-7 at the break after scoring twice in the second quarter. Jacksonville held Philadelphia scoreless in the third quarter while adding three points, then outscored the Eagles 9-3 in the fourth to take the two-point win.

Jalen Hurts completed 21 of 40 passes for 220 yards and one touchdown without an interception. Darius Cooper led Philadelphia’s receivers with two catches for 71 yards and a touchdown. The Eagles managed only 22 rushing yards and failed on both of their fourth-down attempts.

A difficult day for Philadelphia

The Eagles entered the game without Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith. Their depleted backfield took another hit when Will Shipley left with a foot injury.

The game also began with Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Bryan Thomas Jr. ejected after an opening-kickoff fight. Those incidents were separate from the final result: Jacksonville’s second-half scoring and Philadelphia’s stalled offense decided the scoreboard.

The win moves Jacksonville to 4-1. Philadelphia falls to 2-3 after a third straight defeat.

The why matters.
