Cam Little kicked a 57-yard field goal as time expired to give the Jacksonville Jaguars a 19-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Sunday, October 11, eight seconds after Jake Elliott had put Philadelphia in front.

The win lifts Jacksonville to 4-1, while the Eagles fall to 2-3 and have now lost back-to-back games after a 24-20 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4. Philadelphia twice kept the Jaguars out of the end zone from the 1-yard line and still left London without a win.

How the finish unfolded

The last 3 minutes and 20 seconds produced three lead changes. Trevor Lawrence found Parker Washington for a 27-yard touchdown on fourth-and-5 to put Jacksonville up 16-14, but the extra point failed after a high snap, leaving the margin at two.

Philadelphia’s defense then forced a three-and-out, and Jalen Hurts moved the offense into range, with a 17-yard completion to tight end Dallas Goedert, who was back from a Week 2 knee injury, and a short out to receiver Dontayvion Wicks, before Elliott converted from 48 yards with eight seconds on the clock for a 17-16 lead.

It lasted one play. Ameer Abdullah took the ensuing kickoff back 53 yards, and Little, who had already made a 34-yarder in the third quarter, drilled the winner from 57.

Two goal-line stands, not enough points

The Eagles’ defense carried them for most of the morning. Late in the second quarter Jacksonville had four chances from the 1 and came away empty, with Bhayshul Tuten losing yardage on a fourth-down jet sweep, and Philadelphia took a 14-7 lead into the half.

In the fourth quarter it happened again. A first-and-goal at the 1 unravelled as Jacksonville was pushed back by a series of pre-snap flags, two of them for delay of game, and Lawrence’s fourth-and-goal throw from the 5 fell incomplete. Jacksonville finished 0 for 3 in the red zone and was flagged 13 times for 100 yards, yet out-gained the Eagles 408 to 232 and held the ball for 35:02.

Philadelphia’s offense could not take advantage. The Eagles ran 18 times for 22 yards, converted 6 of 15 third downs and failed on both fourth-down tries. Their touchdowns came from a 2-yard Will Shipley run and a 62-yard catch-and-run by undrafted receiver Darius Cooper, the fourth touchdown among his six catches this season.

Leading performers

  • Trevor Lawrence: 24 of 39 for 331 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
  • Parker Washington: six catches for 124 yards and both Jacksonville touchdowns, including a 51-yarder on a bootleg in the first quarter.
  • Jalen Hurts: 21 of 40 for 220 yards and a touchdown, sacked once.
  • Jalen Carter: two sacks and two forced fumbles in the first half alone, though Jacksonville recovered both.
  • Quinyon Mitchell: intercepted Lawrence in the third quarter, his first interception in a regular-season game.

Injuries and ejections

The game began with Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Jacksonville’s Bryan Thomas Jr. ejected after a fight on the opening kickoff, which also wiped out a Jaguars return touchdown because of offsetting penalties.

The Eagles, already without Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith and Hollywood Brown, ruled out Shipley (foot), defensive back Michael Carter II (abdomen) and edge rusher Jalyx Hunt (ankle and knee) during the game, and listed guard Tyler Steen as questionable to return with a shoulder injury. Jacksonville left tackle Anton Harrison was carted off and replaced by Walker Little. Neither team gave an update on the severity of any injury immediately after the game. All designations are tracked on the injury report page.

What comes next

The Eagles fly home to host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, October 18, at 1 p.m. EDT. The Jaguars face the Houston Texans on Sunday, October 18, at 9:30 a.m. EDT. The full box score and every play are in the Eagles-Jaguars Game Center, and both schedules are on the Jaguars and Eagles team pages.
