Home, London and the road

Jacksonville has played three kinds of games. At EverBank Stadium it is 3-0 and has outscored Cleveland, New England and Indianapolis 111-23. In London, where it played twice in a week and a half, it is 1-1 with the two games decided by 2 and 3 points.

On the road in the United States it has played only twice, at Denver and Cincinnati, and went 1-1.

Chapter 7

Thursday night at Baltimore

Jacksonville visits the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 8:15 p.m. ET.

The Ravens are 4-4 and have lost three in a row, scoring 33 points and allowing 84 in those games, losing to Cleveland 13-10, Cincinnati 35-13 and Buffalo 36-10.

  1. Lamar Jackson (right thumb) is out and going on injured reserve. Tyler Huntley (toe) will not play. Rookie Joe Fagnano has an ankle injury and a chance to play.
  2. The Ravens signed quarterback Austin Reed to the practice squad on Monday.
  3. Tyler Loop (groin) missed the walk-through, and Jake Moody is expected to kick.
Chapter 8

What the margin means

A margin of +85 does not guarantee a division title, and the Jaguars’ two losses show how thin the line is. Still, they lead the AFC South by three games, they win the first half, and they have a defense that has held five of seven teams to 17 points or fewer.

On Thursday they meet a team that has scored 10, 13 and 10 points in its past three games and may be down to its third-string quarterback.

Records, scores, quarter scores and team totals come from the official box scores through Sunday, Nov. 1. League rankings are as of Tuesday, Nov. 3. Injury details are from the Ravens’ Monday walk-through.

The why matters.
