Davante Adams moved into a tie for sixth place on the NFL’s all-time receiving touchdowns list Monday night, catching two scores in the Los Angeles Rams’ 37-34 overtime loss to the Buffalo Bills.
The two touchdowns raised his career total to 121, matching Larry Fitzgerald. Only five players have more: Jerry Rice (197), Randy Moss (156), Terrell Owens (153), Cris Carter (130) and Marvin Harrison (128). Adams is seven touchdowns behind Harrison for sole possession of fifth.
A red-zone specialist among the greats
The Bills game also pushed another career mark. Field Yates noted that Adams now has 87 career receiving touchdowns in the red zone, third in league history behind only Rice (94) and Antonio Gates (92).
Through five games this season Adams has 27 catches for 441 yards and four touchdowns. His 16.3 yards per catch is his highest average since 2022 with the Las Vegas Raiders. Last season he scored 14 times in 14 games in his first year with the Rams.
The longer ledger
Across 13 seasons with Green Bay, Las Vegas, the New York Jets and Los Angeles, Adams has 1,044 receptions for 13,074 yards and 121 touchdowns in 183 games, per league career totals cited after Monday’s game. Those yardage totals sit just behind Steve Largent on the all-time list and within reach of several active peers still adding to their careers.
At 34, he is still producing at a rate that can move him past more of the names above him before the year is out. Harrison’s 128 is the next clear target; Carter’s 130 sits two further on.
What comes next
The Rams, now 2-3 after the overtime loss at SoFi Stadium, host the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6. Every red-zone target from here is another chance to break the Fitzgerald tie and climb alone into the top five.
