The Buffalo Bills will play the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night without receiver Joshua Palmer and defensive lineman Ed Oliver, and with DJ Moore listed as questionable, head coach Joe Brady said Saturday, October 10.

The news leaves Buffalo short of healthy receivers for a prime-time road game. Palmer was hurt in Friday’s practice, and Brady said the team was still testing his shoulder to determine how serious the injury is. He said Palmer got tangled up during the session.

Moore and two others questionable

Moore has a shoulder injury he aggravated in the Week 4 loss to the New England Patriots. He sat out Thursday and Friday, then worked Saturday in a non-contact jersey. Mike Garafolo reported the session as limited. Cornerback Dee Alford (ankle) and defensive lineman Landon Jackson (knee) are also questionable.

Brady said all three would travel to Los Angeles and that the final calls would come close to kickoff. He played down the missed practice time for Moore and Alford: “If they’re ready to go, I have full confidence in them being able to play.”

Oliver hurt his knee against New England and did not practice all week.

A debut and a return

With Palmer out, rookie receiver Skyler Bell will be active for the first game of his NFL career. On defense, cornerback Christian Benford is expected to start after missing last week with a toe injury. He was limited in practice, but Brady called him “good to go.” Maxwell Hairston will start at the other cornerback spot.

The Rams expect defensive lineman Aaron Donald, tight end Colby Parkinson and cornerback Jaylen Watson to play after injuries of their own. Full game-status lists for every team are on our injury report page.

What comes next

The Bills visit the Rams at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on Monday, October 12, at 8:15 p.m. EDT (Game Center). Buffalo then plays at the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, October 18.
