Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams will be listed as a full participant on Wednesday’s estimated injury report, coach Ben Johnson told reporters.
Ian Rapoport called it a sign that Williams’ return is coming as Chicago gets ready for Sunday’s road game against the Atlanta Falcons.
The other side of the matchup
Atlanta has its own quarterback question. Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski said Michael Penix Jr. is feeling better despite a rib injury and should start against the Bears “as long as everything goes accordingly.”

Chicago, 3-2, will also be without defensive end Montez Sweat, who began a two-game suspension this week under the league’s performance-enhancing substances policy. A full week of practice from Williams would steady the offense heading into a trip that also closes out the first half of October.
