Patriots beat Steelers 36–17 in the AFC Championship Game

The New England Patriots beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 36–17 at home at Gillette Stadium in the AFC Championship Game of the 2016 playoffs on January 22, 2017.

The Steelers went 11–5 in the regular season and the Patriots went 14–2. The Patriots had already beaten the Houston Texans in the Divisional round. The Patriots went on to win Super Bowl LI, beating the Atlanta Falcons 34–28. The loss ended the Steelers’ season.

In their previous meeting, the New England Patriots won 27–16 on October 23, 2016. When they met again, the New England Patriots won 27–24 on December 17, 2017.
