Saquon Barkley will play on Sunday night. The Philadelphia Eagles left him off their final injury report for the game against the Washington Commanders, but ruled out DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks and three others. Hours later, Washington downgraded defensive tackle Daron Payne to out after he hurt his foot in practice, an injury that could end his season. The last batch of Friday reports also showed the Baltimore Ravens ruling out rookie guard Vega Ioane, the Los Angeles Chargers ruling out Derwin James and the Denver Broncos listing Jaylen Waddle as questionable for the Kansas City Chiefs game.

  • Eagles: Barkley (hamstring, back) has no designation, while Smith, Wicks, Jihaad Campbell, Britain Covey and Jonathan Jones are out
  • Commanders: Payne suffered a significant foot injury in Friday’s practice and is likely headed to injured reserve
  • Ravens: Lamar Jackson has no designation for Buffalo, but Ioane (knee) was ruled out
  • Chargers: James (hamstring) is out against the Los Angeles Rams, along with Kayode Awosika, Deane Leonard and Brenen Thompson
  • Broncos and Chiefs: Waddle and Zach Allen are questionable, RJ Harvey and Talanoa Hufanga are out, and Kansas City listed Mansoor Delane and L’Jarius Sneed as questionable
  • Lions: Kerby Joseph is out again, and Dan Campbell said Isiah Pacheco has a chance to return in late December

Saquon Barkley is good to go, DeVonta Smith is out

Barkley missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday with hamstring and back injuries, then returned on Friday and came off the report entirely. He did not want to say which injury bothers him more. “Definitely dealing with some stuff, but working through it,” he said. Asked about pushing through it on a short week, he said: “One day I’m not gonna be playing football. Whenever that is, I don’t want to look back and be like, ‘I could have gave it a chance and I didn’t.'”

Smith (hamstring) will miss another game, and so will Wicks (ankle) and Covey (knee), which leaves the Eagles thin at receiver. Linebacker Jihaad Campbell (hamstring, quad) and cornerback Jonathan Jones (hamstring) are also out, and cornerback Jakorian Bennett (knee) is questionable.

Daron Payne suffers a significant foot injury

Washington added Payne to its injury report on Friday after he hurt his foot in practice, and by the evening the team had downgraded him to out. Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported that the injury is significant, that it will keep him out for the foreseeable future and that it will likely land him on injured reserve. Payne will have more tests on Saturday, and Rapoport said there is a possibility he has played his last down this season. Payne had been a name to watch before the Nov. 10 trade deadline.

The Commanders had already ruled out defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw (knee), so they will be without two of their top defensive tackles against Philadelphia. Jer’Zhan Newton (pectoral) is questionable.

Ravens rule out Vega Ioane

Jackson has no designation and is set to start at Buffalo after missing three games with a high ankle sprain. Ioane, the rookie right guard, practiced on Thursday and Friday, and Jesse Minter had said he had a chance to play, but the Ravens ruled him out on their final report. Safety Jaylinn Hawkins (knee) is also out, and running back Adam Randall (neck) and cornerback T.J. Tampa (knee) are questionable.

Derwin James out for the Chargers, Rams list Trent McDuffie as questionable

James (hamstring) did not practice all week and will miss Sunday’s game against the Rams. The Chargers also ruled out guard Kayode Awosika (fibula), cornerback Deane Leonard (concussion) and receiver Brenen Thompson (quad, hamstring), and listed cornerbacks Donte Jackson and Rodney Shelley as questionable.

On the other side, the Rams listed cornerback Trent McDuffie (groin), center Coleman Shelton (hip), tight end Colby Parkinson (rib) and receiver Jordan Whittington (back) as questionable. Long snapper Joe Cardona (ankle) is doubtful.

Broncos and Chiefs

Denver ruled out running back RJ Harvey (knee) and safety Talanoa Hufanga (ankle). Waddle (chest), defensive end Zach Allen (hamstring), left tackle Garett Bolles (hip) and safety Brandon Jones (hamstring) are questionable. Kansas City listed Delane (shoulder), Sneed (knee) and R Mason Thomas (personal) as questionable and ruled out defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott (knee). Rashee Rice has no designation.

Kerby Joseph out again, Isiah Pacheco could return in December

Detroit cleared Jahmyr Gibbs (shoulder) and Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) for Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, but Joseph (knee) is out. Campbell said the All-Pro safety has handled individual and group work well but has not taken team reps yet, and that he will practice fully next week. Cornerback Roger McCreary (foot) is questionable.

Campbell also said running back Isiah Pacheco is progressing well. “I do think there’s a chance we could get him back in late December,” he said, adding that linebacker Devin White is also doing well. Safety Thomas Harper is close to being ready, but the Lions want to be careful with him.

Elsewhere

  • Steelers: cornerbacks Brandin Echols and Doneiko Slaughter (both hamstring) are out against the Cleveland Browns, and receiver Ben Skowronek (calf) is questionable
  • Bengals: Ja’Marr Chase has no designation, safety Kyle Dugger (quad) is out and linebacker Joe Giles-Harris (calf) is questionable
  • Cowboys: KaVontae Turpin (ribs) and Dee Winters (calf) are out, and George Pickens and Kenny Clark are questionable
  • Cardinals: Walter Nolen (ankle) and Jon Gaines II (ankle) are out at Dallas
  • Bills: receiver Tyrell Shavers (knee) is out against Baltimore
  • Jaguars and Colts: Jacksonville ruled out safety Antonio Johnson and listed Jakobi Meyers as questionable, and Indianapolis ruled out Anthony Gould and Justin Walley
  • Raiders: Patrick Johnson (stinger) and tight end Carter Runyon (foot) are out against the New York Jets

What to watch on Saturday

The New England Patriots will decide on A.J. Brown (knee, ankle) on Saturday, and Payne is due for more tests. Teams can make injured reserve moves and elevate practice squad players until Saturday afternoon, and the Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears will issue their first game statuses for Monday night.
