Nobody in the NFL has four interceptions yet. After seven weeks of the 2026 regular season, six players share the lead with three each: Cincinnati safety Jordan Battle, San Francisco cornerback Renardo Green, New York Giants safety Jevon Holland, Las Vegas cornerback Hezekiah Masses, Green Bay safety Xavier McKinney and Minnesota cornerback Byron Murphy Jr.

It is the same six-way tie as after Week 5. None of the six has an interception in Week 6 or Week 7, so the lead has stood still for two weeks while 37 interceptions were thrown around the league. Four of the six got there with a two-interception game in Week 5.

Holland was the first to three. He had an interception in each of the Giants’ first three games, against Dallas, the Rams and Tennessee, and he shared the lead with Masses after Weeks 3 and 4. Masses had two in the Raiders’ Week 2 game against the Chargers and has the most return yards of the six, 67.

Week 5 brought the rest of the group level. Murphy had two at New Orleans, McKinney had two against Chicago, Battle had two at Miami and Green had two at Seattle. There have been nine two-interception games this season, and four of them came that week. Nobody has had three in a game.

Who can move first in Week 8

McKinney gets the first chance to take the lead alone. Green Bay hosts Carolina on Thursday night, which is 02:15 on Friday in Cairo, and the Packers lead the league with nine interceptions as a team. Murphy plays at Detroit, Masses at the New York Jets and Battle at home to Tennessee, all on Sunday at 20:00 Cairo time. Holland and Green cannot add to their totals this week, because the Giants and the 49ers are on a bye.

Another 19 players have two. Tennessee’s Cor’Dale Flott is the only player with an interception in both Week 6 and Week 7. Martin Emerson Jr. of New Orleans picked off both Giants quarterbacks in Week 6 for the other two-interception game since Week 5. Devin Lloyd of Carolina and Talanoa Hufanga of Denver are the only players with two or more who have returned one for a touchdown, and Amani Hooker’s 92-yard return for Tennessee is the longest among them. Jacksonville’s Travis Hunter, who plays both receiver and cornerback, has two.

Week 7 had 16 interceptions in 14 games, the fewest of any week this season. There have been 146 in 107 games, or 1.36 a game. Sixteen different players made those 16 picks in Week 7, and none had more than one.

Forced fumbles: Fred Warner has four

San Francisco linebacker Fred Warner leads the NFL with four forced fumbles on defense, one more than six other players. The 49ers are on a bye this week, so any of the six players at three can tie him in Week 8. Buffalo’s Greg Rousseau has the most sacks of that group, 6.0, and the Jets’ David Bailey is next with 5.5.

Two more players have four forced fumbles if kick and punt coverage is counted: Troy Dye of the Chargers and Siran Neal of the 49ers. Each has two on defense and two on special teams, so they are not in the table.

The why matters.
