NFL teams filed their first moves after Week 7 on Monday, October 26. The Carolina Panthers put right tackle Taylor Moton on injured reserve with a broken fibula, the Green Bay Packers signed veteran guard Mekhi Becton Sr. to the 53-man roster after losing a second center in Detroit, and the Cleveland Browns activated quarterback Dillon Gabriel from injured reserve. The Philadelphia Eagles got guard Landon Dickerson and tight ends Grant Calcaterra and Eli Stowers back for Monday night, a game they lost 38-21 to the Dallas Cowboys.

Sunday was quiet on the wire, with no roster moves filed around the Week 7 games. No trades were reported on either day. The trade deadline is Tuesday, November 10, at 4 p.m. ET.

The moves that matter

Moton’s comeback ends after seven quarters. Moton broke his fibula in the third quarter of Sunday’s 43-13 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in only his second game back after blood clots in his lung kept him on the non-football injury list for the first four games. Dave Canales said the fracture is high on the fibula, just below the knee, and that a procedure will end his season. First-round pick Monroe Freeling moves back to right tackle. Carolina filled the spot by signing linebacker Nick Hampton, who had five tackles on Sunday as a practice squad elevation. Our Monday injury diagnoses have the rest of the Week 7 injury news.

Becton gets the call in Green Bay. Jacob Monk hurt his quad after he replaced starting center Sean Rhyan in the first quarter of the 20-17 loss to the Detroit Lions, and Rhyan is believed to have a high ankle sprain. Monk will miss at least four games on injured reserve. Becton, who joined the practice squad late last month, started 15 games for the Eagles’ Super Bowl team in 2024 and 14 for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2025 before they released him in March. John Williams finished Sunday’s game at center.

Green Bay Packers on X

Cleveland carries four quarterbacks. Gabriel went on injured reserve with a back injury before Week 1, and Monday was the end of his 21-day practice window. He joins Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders and rookie Taylen Green on the 53-man roster, an arrangement Todd Monken said he is comfortable with. Tight end Carsen Ryan, who played almost entirely on special teams in six games, was waived. The Browns also announced defensive tackle Maliek Collins’ two-year, $30 million extension, which we covered when it was agreed on Saturday.

Eagles get three back, then lose. Dickerson started the opener at left guard and then missed five games with a knee injury. Calcaterra had been out all year with a back injury, and Stowers, a second-round pick this year, had missed all six games with a quad injury, so Monday was his debut. Running back Elijah Mitchell and linebacker Keyshawn James-Newby were elevated, and cornerback Jakorian Bennett was ruled out with a knee injury. Our Cowboys-Eagles recap and Eagles injury update cover the game and Saquon Barkley’s back and hamstring.

Philadelphia Eagles on X

Bech’s window opens. The Las Vegas Raiders designated receiver Jack Bech to return to practice. Bech broke his forearm in the Week 3 win over the New Orleans Saints, and the team now has 21 days to add him to the 53-man roster. He had five catches for 48 yards and a touchdown before the injury.

Patriots move on from Baringer. New England released punter Bryce Baringer, its punter for the previous three seasons, from injured reserve. Ian Rapoport reported that Baringer is healthy now. The Patriots also re-signed linebacker Jose Ramirez to the practice squad and released center Jacob Rizy.

Elsewhere. The Buffalo Bills moved safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the reserve/suspended list. His one-game suspension was upheld on appeal, and he will miss the November 1 game against the Baltimore Ravens after Buffalo’s bye; our Gardner-Johnson story has the background. Baltimore signed veteran safety Rayshawn Jenkins to its practice squad, and the Atlanta Falcons swapped practice squad tight ends, signing E.J. Jenkins and releasing Jack Velling. Safety Wydett Williams Jr., waived by the Arizona Cardinals, and receiver Montorie Foster Jr., waived by the Seattle Seahawks, went unclaimed on Monday.

What comes next

More injured reserve moves usually follow on Tuesday, once teams have their MRI results. Green Bay still has to decide on Rhyan, and the Eagles have to decide on Barkley after Monday night. Seattle coach Mike Macdonald said the team will open the 21-day practice window for first-round running back Jadarian Price, who has been on injured reserve with a chest injury. The Bills, Giants, Texans and 49ers are among the teams on a bye in Week 8.

The why matters.
