Week 6 opens Thursday, Oct. 15, when the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks (3-2) visit the Denver Broncos (3-2) at Empower Field at Mile High. Kickoff is 8:15 pm ET, which is 3:15 am Friday in Cairo, on Prime Video. The game also streams on NFL+ in the United States.

Both teams will wear their throwback uniforms, the NFL announced on Tuesday.

How they got here

Seattle arrives off a 32-29 home loss to San Francisco, decided by Eddy Pineiro’s late field goal and a fourth-down stop at midfield. The Seahawks’ other loss came in Week 3 against Washington.

Denver beat the Los Angeles Chargers 23-17 at SoFi Stadium in Week 5. The Broncos scored the final 13 points after two late Justin Herbert turnovers, and Wil Lutz turned both into field goals.

Who to watch

Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the headliner for Seattle. He opened the season with 122 receiving yards in the Week 1 win over New England and has been listed as limited with an ankle injury this week, though he finished Sunday’s game.

For Denver, the question is how much Bo Nix can get out of receiver Jaylen Waddle, who arrived in an offseason trade from Miami and whom Broncos fans have wanted to see more involved through the first five weeks.

Availability

Seattle coach Mike Macdonald said running back Zach Charbonnet, who is working back from a torn ACL on the physically unable to perform list, is not expected to play. Jeremy Fowler reported that Charbonnet has a real chance to debut in Week 7 against Kansas City.

Denver is in worse shape in the secondary. Cornerback Pat Surtain II and safety Talanoa Hufanga, both with ankle injuries, did not practice on any of the Broncos’ reports this week, and Fowler reported that Hufanga is expected to miss two to three weeks. Cornerback Riley Moss, who missed Week 5 with a rib injury, has been limited and could return. Devon Key is the likely replacement at safety.
