The last full day of roster business before Week 7 brought two players back from the commissioner’s exempt list and several long-awaited returns. On Saturday, October 24, the Green Bay Packers activated running back Josh Jacobs, the Denver Broncos did the same with edge rusher Jonathon Cooper, the Detroit Lions took safety Brian Branch off the physically unable to perform list and the Houston Texans put wide receiver Tank Dell back on the active roster. The San Francisco 49ers cleared Christian Kirk to play, and the New York Giants lost linebacker Tremaine Edmunds to injured reserve.
No trades were made. The trade deadline is Tuesday, November 10, at 4 p.m. ET.

The moves that matter
Jacobs is back in Green Bay. The league put him on the exempt list on August 30, days after he was charged in Brown County, Wisconsin, with misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property; he later pleaded no contest. He has sat out all six of the Packers’ games. Adam Schefter reported on October 16 that the league would take him off the list the following Monday while keeping its investigation open, which means further discipline is still possible. Schefter also reported that Jacobs is expected to play against Detroit on Sunday. Green Bay activated defensive tackle Jordon Riley off the physically unable to perform list in the same announcement.
Cooper counts again in Denver. The Broncos edge rusher came off the exempt list on October 16 but did not take up a roster spot until Saturday’s activation. Denver also got running back Jonah Coleman back from an ankle injury and moved running back Tyler Badie and edge rusher Jonah Elliss to injured reserve.
Branch returns for the Packers game. Detroit’s safety, coming back from a torn Achilles tendon, was activated with center Cade Mays, who had been out with a wrist injury. The club removed both from its game status report, so neither carries a designation for Sunday’s game against Green Bay.
Dell is cleared in Houston. The Texans activated their receiver and removed his injury designation before Sunday’s game against the Giants. Dell has not played since the severe knee injury he suffered in December 2024. Houston also brought up linebacker Kenneth Murray and cornerback Bryce Hall for the game.
Kirk and Terrell come off injured reserve. San Francisco activated Kirk ahead of his first game for the club, against Atlanta. On the other side, the Falcons activated cornerback A.J. Terrell after a groin injury and dropped his designation for that game. They also put tackle Michael Jerrell on injured reserve with a biceps injury and promoted edge rusher Drake Jackson to the 53-man roster.
New injured-reserve stints. Besides Edmunds and the two Broncos, Saturday’s list included Baltimore linebacker Tavius Robinson, Kansas City running back Brashard Smith, Cleveland guard Teven Jenkins (back), Carolina linebacker Thomas Incoom (calf) and Jets linebacker Kiko Mauigoa (quadriceps). Each must miss at least four games.
Elevations to watch. Seattle elevated cornerback Trevon Diggs, a day after moving him from its 53-man roster to the practice squad. Miami brought up kicker Zane Gonzalez, whom it signed to the practice squad on Tuesday, and Minnesota, which released running back DeeJay Dallas on Friday, signed him to its practice squad on Saturday and elevated him for the game.
