Pittsburgh elevated Lew Nichols from the practice squad to the active/inactive roster for its October 1 game against Cleveland. The move is a game-specific elevation: the announced plan is for Nichols to return to the practice squad after the game.
This is different from the same day’s move for defensive back Doneiko Slaughter, who signed to the 53-man roster. Nichols had also been elevated for the Week 3 game against Cincinnati.
