October 4, 2026: 17 catches and a winning touchdown
CeeDee Lamb caught 17 passes for 189 yards in Dallas’s 34–30 win at Houston. His 12-yard touchdown catch from Dak Prescott finished the winning drive. The catch total ranked second in Cowboys single-game history, while his 7,914 career receiving yards moved him past Drew Pearson into fourth place on the franchise list.
CeeDee Lamb is listed at WR on the Dallas Cowboys roster checked September 20, 2026. The official source lists the roster status as Active roster (ACT).
Reading this profile
The details below are dated roster facts. Roster status, practice participation, and game-day availability are different; this profile does not turn one into another.
Career path: Oklahoma playmaker to Dallas lead receiver
Lamb arrived in the NFL with a substantial college record. Across three seasons at Oklahoma he caught 173 passes for 3,292 yards and 32 touchdowns. His junior season in 2019 brought consensus All-America honors and a 21.4-yard receiving average. Oklahoma’s biography documents both the production and the big-play element of his college game, including 24 career catches of at least 40 yards.
Dallas selected Lamb 17th overall in 2020. His first NFL season produced 74 catches for 935 yards and five receiving touchdowns; his second brought 79 catches, 1,102 yards and his first Pro Bowl selection. The next change was responsibility. After Amari Cooper’s departure, Lamb became Dallas’s lead receiver in 2022 and responded with 107 catches, 1,359 yards, nine touchdowns and AP second-team All-Pro honors. The Cowboys’ career biography traces that move from an immediate contributor to the offense’s primary receiving option.
Why 2023 is a defining checkpoint
Lamb raised his totals again in 2023, finishing with 135 receptions, 1,749 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns. The reception and yardage totals set Dallas single-season records, as the Cowboys’ February 2024 report confirms. The team’s career statistics also credit him with 80 receiving first downs and 29 catches of at least 20 yards that season. Together, those measures explain the range of his contribution: sustaining drives while also creating longer gains.
What his development means when watching Dallas
A lead receiver’s influence can also appear in the space available to teammates. In an October 2024 Cowboys report, receivers coach Robert Prince described opponents doubling Lamb, particularly on third down, and the offense moving him around. For a practical viewing exercise, watch whether a defender travels with him before the snap and whether an extra defender closes after it. Then look at the routes opposite him. Those observations help explain a play without assuming that a quiet receiving total means he had no effect. The Dallas team page provides the broader team context.
Career context checked October 2, 2026, Eastern Time. The milestones above are tied to completed seasons, rather than projected current-season totals.

Todd Bowles put the Pro Bowl safety's absence at two to four weeks, which takes him out of Thursday night's game in Dallas as Tampa Bay tries to avoid an 0–5 start.
Todd Bowles named the undrafted quarterback his Week 5 starter after a 17–14 loss to Green Bay, with Baker Mayfield’s dislocated thumb still keeping him out.
