How the second-half rally unfolded

Washington led 19-6 late in the third quarter before Winston found Isaiah Likely for a 3-yard touchdown with 44 seconds left in the period. In the fourth he hit Likely again for 17 yards; the play was first ruled a fumble at the 1 that went for a touchback, then reversed to a touchdown after replay. With 1:43 left he connected with Malik Nabers for another 17-yard score that tied the game at 27.

Likely finished with 11 catches for 94 yards and two touchdowns. Nabers had 11 catches for 121 yards and the tying score on 20 targets. New York missed a field goal and lost a fumble in overtime.

Where Winston stands heading into Saints week

Through four starts Winston is 76 of 132 for 805 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions. John Harbaugh has talked this week about Winston’s adjustment to the Giants offense and about cleaning up fumbles before New Orleans visits MetLife Stadium.

The why matters.
