Game preview

Preview updated October 2, 2026, with Friday game-status reports. This is a pregame guide, not a report of the result. Questionable designations are not confirmation that a player will dress.

Broncos at 49ers kickoff and TV coverage

The Denver Broncos play the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Kickoff is 1:25 p.m. PDT at the stadium, 2:25 p.m. MDT in Denver and 4:25 p.m. EDT.

CBS carries the game in selected U.S. markets; the Bay Area station is KPIX CBS 5. Paramount+ carries the applicable local CBS broadcast with a subscription. Check local availability rather than assuming nationwide access. NFL+ offers eligible live local games on phones and tablets, not an unrestricted out-of-market television feed.

Friday injury report: who is available?

Denver’s only final game designation is outside linebacker Dondrea Tillman, ruled out with a hamstring injury after missing all three practices. Zach Allen, J.K. Dobbins, D.J. Jones, Marvin Mims Jr. and Jaylen Waddle practiced fully Friday and have no game designation.

San Francisco ruled out Nick Bosa (knee/calf), James Thompson Jr. (ankle) and Mykel Williams (knee). Mike Evans (ribs), Dre Greenlaw (quadricep), Keion White (hamstring) and Jaden Dugger (shoulder) are questionable. Evans’ limited return to practice does not settle his game-day status.

Williams has resumed limited work after beginning the season on reserve/PUP, but that practice return does not make him available for this game. Brandin Cooks is on the active roster; a roster promotion alone does not establish his Sunday workload.

Can Denver disrupt San Francisco’s passing start?

San Francisco is 3–0 after beating Arizona 36–30. Brock Purdy has thrown nine touchdown passes and has not been sacked through three games. Denver, 2–1 after its comeback win over the Rams, brings a defense with eight sacks, including three from Allen.

Matchup analysis: The useful test is whether Denver can turn pressure into lost yardage without allowing easy answers behind it. A zero-sack start does not mean Purdy has never faced pressure. Watch his release decisions and the protection on longer-developing throws, rather than judging the matchup solely by the final sack total.

What San Francisco’s defensive absences change

Bosa and Thompson’s absences reduce the available defensive-line options, and White remains uncertain. For Denver, that puts extra interest on whether Bo Nix can avoid obvious passing situations and keep the offense balanced. It is a question to track, not evidence that San Francisco cannot generate pressure.

Final inactive decisions remain ahead. Weekly injury designations and reserve-list entries describe different things; neither should be mistaken for a confirmed snap distribution.
