The Eagles announced October 7 that they have agreed to trade Cam Jurgens to Baltimore, with completion pending a physical.
What each team would receive
- Ravens: Jurgens and Philadelphia’s 2027 seventh-round pick.
- Eagles: Baltimore’s 2027 fifth-round pick and 2028 second-round pick.
Why the move matters
Jurgens earned Pro Bowl selections in the previous two seasons after succeeding Jason Kelce at center. He shifted to left guard this season when Landon Dickerson went on injured reserve, with Drew Kendall taking over at center.
Baltimore has three veteran centers on injured reserve: Danny Pinter, Jovaughn Gwyn and Ethan Pocic. Adding Jurgens would give the Ravens another option at a position where injuries have forced changes. He is under contract through 2029.
Why Sunday may be too soon
Coach Jesse Minter said on October 7 that he expects Jurgens to be ready the following week rather than for Sunday’s game in Atlanta. Jurgens is in the concussion protocol and must learn Baltimore’s terminology. That timetable is an expectation, not confirmation that he has been cleared to play.
Vega Ioane could make another start at center against Atlanta before returning to guard when Jurgens is available. Andre James remains another option on the practice squad.
Philadelphia’s trade announcement still includes the physical condition. The available announcements do not explicitly confirm that Jurgens has passed it. The agreement and Minter’s projected timeline should not be read as game clearance.
