The Patriots went 12–4 in the regular season and the Broncos went 13–3. The Broncos had already beaten the San Diego Chargers in the Divisional round. The Broncos’ run ended in the Super Bowl XLVIII, a 43–8 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The loss ended the Patriots’ season.
