The unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs will play Sunday night’s game in Seattle without receiver Rashee Rice, right tackle Jaylon Moore and running back Brashard Smith, all three ruled out on Friday. Cornerback L’Jarius Sneed is still questionable with a knee injury, and he did not fly out with the team on Saturday.

The club said Sneed stayed behind for a personal reason and will join his teammates in Seattle. His knee designation did not change. He was limited in all three practices this week, as he was before last Sunday’s game, when he was also questionable and played.

Who did not practice

Rice (hamstring and knee) and Moore (concussion) missed every session. Rice has not played since he hurt his hamstring against the Las Vegas Raiders on October 4. Before that he had 13 catches for 190 yards. This is his second straight absence. Moore was hurt in last Sunday’s 22-6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Joshua Ezeudu is in line for his first start for Kansas City at right tackle.

Smith hurt his hamstring in Thursday’s practice and sat out Friday. On Saturday the Chiefs placed him on injured reserve, so he will miss at least four games. To replace him they signed undrafted rookie Jaydn Ott from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. Ott has not yet appeared in a regular-season game.

Kelce limited, McDonald back

Travis Kelce was limited all week with an ankle injury but has no game designation. He has 20 catches for 299 yards and two touchdowns. Patrick Mahomes was listed with a knee issue but practiced fully every day and will start.

Linebacker Cooper McDonald, who had been questionable, was activated from injured reserve on Saturday and is no longer on the report. Without him, Kansas City would have had only four linebackers on the active roster. Receiver Justin Watson was elevated from the practice squad for a second straight week to add depth while Rice is out. On Friday the club also signed receiver Andrew Armstrong to the active roster.

Seattle’s list

The Seahawks ruled out running back Zach Charbonnet and linebackers Drake Thomas and Chazz Surratt. Five players are questionable: DeMarcus Lawrence, Uchenna Nwosu, Connor O’Toole, safety Nick Emmanwori and backup quarterback Drew Lock. Right guard Anthony Bradford is back from injured reserve.

What comes next

The Chiefs (5-0) visit the Seahawks (3-3) at Lumen Field at 8:20 p.m. EDT on Sunday, October 25. Seattle has lost two in a row. Kansas City then visits the Denver Broncos on Sunday, November 1. Follow the game in the Game Center and the latest designations on the injury page.
