The Buffalo Bills left Las Vegas with a 33-30 win and two rib scares that ended better than they first looked: tight end Dalton Kincaid and outside linebacker Bradley Chubb were both listed as questionable to return on Sunday, and both went back into the game.
That matters because of what comes next. Buffalo is 5-1 and now has its bye week, so neither player is facing a short turnaround, and the club does not play again until the Baltimore Ravens visit on Sunday, November 1.
Kincaid: X-rays, then the fourth quarter
Kincaid’s injury came in the second half. After he was hurt, he went into the blue medical tent, then headed inside for X-rays. Buffalo never declared him out. He was back on the field in the fourth quarter, and he finished with six catches for 24 yards in front of a hometown crowd; he grew up in Las Vegas.
Chubb’s rib injury happened earlier, in the first half. The team listed him as questionable to return as well, and he was back in the lineup before halftime.
Neither player has been given a diagnosis beyond the ribs. The Bills will not need to publish a practice report until the week of the Baltimore game, which will be the first official look at how either one is moving.
Moore and Oliver missed another game
The bye arrives at a useful time for two starters who have now sat out two straight games. Wide receiver DJ Moore (shoulder) and defensive tackle Ed Oliver (knee) were both inactive in Las Vegas after being listed as questionable on Friday. Each missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday before being limited on Friday, and Joe Brady had said only that they would play if they were ready.
The rest of Buffalo’s inactive list was linebacker Mike Danna, guard Ar’maj Reed-Adams and tackle Jude Bowry.

Three other players who were questionable did suit up. Receiver Joshua Palmer (shoulder) and cornerback Dee Alford (ankle) returned after missing the Monday night game against the Rams, and defensive lineman T.J. Sanders (shoulder) played after finishing the week with a full practice. Right tackle Spencer Brown, who hurt his back against Los Angeles, was not on the inactive list either; Brady had called him a tough player and promised he would be ready.
What comes next
The Bills head into the off week on a two-game winning streak. When they return, the Baltimore Ravens come to Orchard Park on Sunday, November 1, at 1 p.m. EST. Follow every designation on the WhyNFL injury report, the Bills team page and the Game Center from Las Vegas.
