The Buffalo Bills signed outside linebacker Mike Danna to the 53-man roster and waived cornerback Anthony Kendall on Tuesday, the club announced, reversing the elevation moves they made for Monday night’s overtime win at the Los Angeles Rams.
Kendall’s one-game stint
Kendall had been signed from the practice squad for the Rams game and played 31 defensive snaps — about 38 percent of Buffalo’s defensive plays — plus 15 special-teams snaps in his first appearance for the Bills this season. It was his first NFL game action since 2023. He originally joined Buffalo on August 12.
Ian Rapoport reported that the Bills planned to bring Kendall back on the practice squad if he cleared waivers. Transaction trackers listed him signing to the practice squad on Wednesday after going unclaimed.
Danna back on the 53
Danna, a seven-year veteran who signed with Buffalo in May, had been released Monday so Kendall could join the active roster. He has played one game for the Bills this season, recording one quarterback hit against the Detroit Lions. The club returned defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis and receiver Trent Sherfield to the practice squad after their Monday elevations.
Buffalo visits the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. WhyNFL will track whether Kendall is elevated again or stays on the practice squad.
