Jesse Minter says his top pass rusher and a receiver on injured reserve have a chance to play in Cleveland, and new center Cam Jurgens is near the end of the concussion protocol.

Baltimore Ravens edge rusher Trey Hendrickson and wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane have put themselves in position to play Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, head coach Jesse Minter said Monday, and new center Cam Jurgens is in the final stages of the concussion protocol.

All three would be significant additions for a 4-1 team that sits first in the AFC North despite playing short-handed. Baltimore beat Atlanta 30-23 in overtime on Sunday night without Hendrickson, without Jurgens and without quarterback Lamar Jackson, and Minter said the club came out of that game without any major new injuries.

Where each player stands

Trey Hendrickson. The veteran pass rusher has missed the last two games after a procedure on a broken finger. According to Jonas Shaffer, Minter described him as eager to be ready this week. Baltimore still brought down Michael Penix Jr. three times in Atlanta without him, but he remains the most accomplished pass rusher on the roster.

Ja’Kobi Lane. The receiver has been on injured reserve since wrist surgery in September. Minter said Lane is in good condition and has a chance to play, though Shaffer noted that nothing is settled and the next step would be opening his 21-day practice window. The Ravens have not announced that move.

Cam Jurgens. The center, acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles in a trade last week, has yet to play for Baltimore. He was inactive in Atlanta while still in the protocol. Minter said the team should know more about his availability by Wednesday. “The signs are pointing in the right direction,” he said, as quoted by Jamison Hensley.

None of the three has been cleared yet. The Ravens’ first injury report of the week, due Wednesday, will be the first official word on whether they practice.

The Jackson question

The biggest decision is still at quarterback. Minter said Jackson is improving from the sprained left ankle that kept him out on Sunday, but he is not sure whether the two-time MVP will practice Wednesday, and he expects to know more by the middle of the week. Our Lamar Jackson update has the details.

If Jackson cannot go, Tyler Huntley would make a second straight start. Huntley completed 24 of 32 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns in Atlanta, threw the 7-yard touchdown to Devontez Walker with 40 seconds left that, with Derrick Henry’s two-point run, forced overtime, and then scored the winner on a 1-yard run. Henry finished with 102 rushing yards on 24 carries. The full story is in our Ravens-Falcons recap and on the Game Center.

What comes next

The Ravens visit the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, October 18, at 1 p.m. EDT. Baltimore’s Wednesday practice will give the first look at which of its injured starters are ready for a division road game.
