San Francisco police say they have arrested four men in connection with the February shooting of 49ers defensive lineman Keion White, who was shot in the ankle at a Mission District nightclub hours after the Super Bowl. Two of the men were charged Wednesday, and prosecutors said one of them fired the shot that hit White.

Police Chief Derrick Lew and District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced the arrests at a news conference at SFPD headquarters on Wednesday. Lew said the case grew into an investigation called Operation “D-Line,” involving “over 50 search warrants and assistance from over 250 law enforcement personnel,” with arrests made in California and Georgia.

Lew described the scene shortly after 4 a.m. on Feb. 9, when White was hosting a private Super Bowl party in the VIP area of the Dahlia club on Mission Street. “Patrons ducked for cover and fled in fear as gunfire rang out inside the crowded club,” he said. “It started when multiple suspects, some brandishing firearms, confronted the 49ers player, which then led to a physical altercation between the group and the victim, who was shot in the leg.” The bullet struck White in the ankle. He had surgery afterward, and police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

Who was arrested, and the charges

According to police, Atlanta officers arrested 38-year-old Marquis Davis at his home on Oct. 7 on an SFPD warrant, and San Joaquin County deputies arrested 36-year-old Antoine Washington in Stockton the same morning. SFPD and Irvine police took 35-year-old Curtis Green into custody at his Irvine home that day, and Los Angeles police arrested 36-year-old Gregory Walker of Mountain House on Oct. 9. Police said they seized three firearms, about $7,000 in cash and nearly 15 pounds of drugs, including about 4,000 grams of fentanyl found at Davis’ home.

Jenkins said only Walker and Green, the two men booked into San Francisco County Jail, have been charged so far. “Mr. Walker has been charged with assault with a firearm, with allegations that he personally discharged that firearm at the victim, Keion White,” she said. He also faces an allegation of causing great bodily injury and three felon-in-possession firearm counts. Green faces misdemeanor charges of brandishing a firearm and carrying a concealed, loaded gun. Prosecutors said they will charge Davis and Washington once they are brought to San Francisco.

At their first court appearance Wednesday afternoon, Walker was ordered held without bail and Green was released because his charges are misdemeanors, KQED reported. Both put off entering a plea and are due back in court Monday. Walker’s attorney, Jeff Wozniak, told reporters he plans to prove Walker is innocent.

“We will not tolerate any type of violence”

Jenkins thanked White for working with investigators. “I want to thank the victim in this case for his cooperation, as well as a number of witnesses that were in that nightclub that evening and were affected by this,” she said. “We will not tolerate any type of violence in our city, but certainly not gun violence. We had a great and amazing Super Bowl weekend that ended with this incident.”

Reports at the time tied the February shooting to a dispute between White and the rapper Lil Baby. On Wednesday, police said they had not found a connection between the rapper and the suspects, according to KQED. Lew said the department is still looking into what caused the shooting and asked any other witnesses to come forward.

White on the field

The shooting did not stop White from playing this season. The 27-year-old has appeared in all five games for the unbeaten 49ers, with three sacks and nine tackles, including a sack in the 32-29 win at Seattle on Oct. 11. San Francisco got him from the New England Patriots at the 2025 trade deadline. He is in the final season of his rookie contract after the Patriots took him in the second round, 46th overall, in 2023 out of Georgia Tech.

The 49ers, 5-0, host the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football on Oct. 19 at 8:15 p.m. EDT.
