The San Francisco 49ers will host the Washington Commanders on Monday night without Nick Bosa and Deebo Samuel Sr., and with their top receiver, Mike Evans, listed as questionable, according to the final injury report the club released on Saturday.

Bosa (knee, calf), Samuel (hamstring), safety Marques Sigle (ankle) and linebacker Garret Wallow (hamstring) are out. Fullback Kyle Juszczyk is the good news: he finished the week with a full practice on Saturday and carries no designation, so he is set to return after sitting out the win over Seattle.

Who did not practice, who was limited

Six players were absent from Saturday’s session: Bosa, Evans, Samuel, Sigle, Wallow and running back Kaelon Black, whose absence was for a personal matter rather than an injury. Bosa has not practiced since he hurt his calf before Week 3, and Monday will be the fourth game in a row he misses.

Evans did not practice at any point this week. He spent the last two days working on a side field while managing bruised ribs and an Achilles problem, which leaves his status for Monday open. Six players are questionable in all: Evans, receiver Christian Kirk (calf), defensive tackle Gracen Halton (quad), safety Siran Neal (neck), cornerback Upton Stout (shoulder) and defensive end Mykel Williams (knee). Halton, Kirk, Neal, Stout and Williams were all limited on Saturday; Halton was back on the field after missing two days.

Kirk has not played this season because of the calf injury and is practicing inside his return window. Head coach Kyle Shanahan would not say whether he will be added to the active roster in time.

What it means against Washington

The receiver room is the concern. Evans, in his first season in San Francisco, leads the team with 24 catches for 326 yards and three touchdowns, and he played through the rib injury against the Seahawks for seven catches, 113 yards and a score. Without him and Samuel, Brock Purdy would lean on tight end George Kittle, who has 21 receptions for 268 yards and four touchdowns, along with Brandin Cooks, Jacob Cowing and Jordan Watkins.

Up front on defense, a fourth straight game without Bosa puts more on Williams, who is himself questionable.

Washington has its own absences. Quarterback Marcus Mariota (knee), running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt (groin), defensive end Charles Omenihu (groin, ankle) and linebacker Javontae Jean-Baptiste (pectoral) are out, and receiver Stefon Diggs (hamstring) is one of nine Commanders listed as questionable. Jayden Daniels practiced in full.

What comes next

The 49ers, 5-0 after a 32-29 win over Seattle, host the Commanders, 1-3-1, at Levi’s Stadium on Monday, October 19, at 8:15 p.m. EDT; follow it in the Commanders-49ers Game Center. San Francisco then travels to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, October 25. Every designation is on the injury report.

The why matters.
