Jared Goff heads into Detroit’s bye week with 12 touchdown passes and no interceptions through five games, a start matched only once in league history.

Goff and Russell Wilson in 2019 are the only quarterbacks to throw at least 12 touchdown passes without an interception over the first five games of a season. Goff has 1,485 passing yards so far, and Sunday’s three-touchdown game in a 45-21 win at Arizona also stretched his run to 28 straight games with a touchdown pass, the longest active streak in the league and the longest in Lions history.

Against the Cardinals, Goff completed 19 of 30 passes for 271 yards and a 125.8 rating. Detroit went 4 for 4 on fourth down, with Goff converting three through the air and the fourth on a 1-yard touchdown run, his first rushing score since 2023.

“Goff just is Goff. He’s as good as they come,” Dan Campbell said after the game. “That’s the way he’s played these five games here. I just think he’s gotten better every year. He’s even better than last year.”

Goff said a few loose balls have bounced Detroit’s way, including a sack-fumble the Lions recovered on Sunday, but that ball security has been a deliberate focus. “I’ve been very conscious of that and through the last handful of years of my career tried to really focus on that,” he said. “I’m proud of that right now and want to keep that going.”

The Lions (3-2) are off in Week 6 and return to host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, October 25, at 4:25 p.m. EDT.
