Geno Smith heads into Sunday’s AFC East matchup at New England with six touchdown passes, 1,084 yards and no interceptions through five games — and a 104.2 passer rating that has steadied the Jets’ offense.
Smith is one of only two quarterbacks this season with at least 100 completions, 1,000 passing yards, a 100-plus rating and zero interceptions. His best outing remains Week 3 at Detroit, when he completed 31 of 37 passes for 321 yards and three touchdowns (129.8 rating).
Against the Browns, Smith went 17 of 30 for 182 yards and a touchdown, finding Garrett Wilson for a 32-yard score in the first quarter of a 17-12 win. Wilson leads the Jets with 31 catches for 374 yards and three touchdowns and has two 100-yard games already this season.
The Jets (2-3) visit the Patriots (3-2) at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, October 18, at 1:00 p.m. EDT. New York ranks fourth in pass defense; New England ranks fifth overall after a 45-17 win over Las Vegas. It is the clubs’ first meeting of 2026.
