Game story

Las Vegas rallies from 11 down to beat New Orleans and stay perfect

The Las Vegas Raiders scored the last 19 points to beat the New Orleans Saints 35–27 in New Orleans and improve to 3–0.

Tyler Shough threw four touchdown passes, and his 1-yard pass to Juwan Johnson and 16-yarder to Noah Fant, less than a minute apart in the third quarter, gave New Orleans a 27–16 lead. Las Vegas answered with Mike Washington Jr.'s 36-yard touchdown run, and Kirk Cousins then threw fourth-quarter touchdowns to Cody White and Brock Bowers.

New Orleans lost four turnovers, including a Hezekiah Masses interception. Cousins completed 22 of 33 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns, and Bowers caught 10 passes for 116 yards. Matt Gay kicked three field goals.

Shough completed 29 of 42 passes for 255 yards, and Chris Olave had nine catches for 107. Las Vegas hosts Kansas City next. New Orleans (1–2) hosts Atlanta on Monday night.

Week 3 recap: four takeaways turn an 11-point deficit into a Raiders win

The Las Vegas Raiders beat the New Orleans Saints 35–27 at Caesars Superdome on September 27, 2026. New Orleans had built a 27–16 third-quarter lead, but Las Vegas scored the final 19 points. The difference was a defense that kept giving its offense another possession when the Saints needed to finish the game.

How the comeback happened

Mike Washington Jr.’s 36-yard touchdown run reduced the deficit to five before the fourth quarter. Malcolm Koonce then disrupted Tyler Shough’s throwing motion, and Maxx Crosby recovered the loose ball. That takeaway gave the Raiders the opportunity to move ahead on Kirk Cousins’ touchdown pass to Cody White.

The pressure continued on the next New Orleans possession. Hezekiah Masses intercepted Shough, setting up Cousins’ four-yard touchdown pass to Brock Bowers. With Las Vegas ahead by eight, Jeremy Chinn forced a fourth-down fumble that Taron Johnson recovered. Nakobe Dean later knocked the ball away from Juwan Johnson, and Eric Stokes recovered to close out the win. Those four second-half takeaways explain why the Saints’ productive early offense did not produce a victory.

The performances behind the result

Bowers caught 10 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown in his first appearance of the season. Cousins finished with 248 passing yards and three touchdown throws. For New Orleans, Shough threw four touchdowns, two apiece to Juwan Johnson and Noah Fant. The Saints finished with more net offense, 381 yards to 340, but did not score in the fourth quarter.

What the result meant at the end of Week 3

The Raiders improved to 3–0, setting up a Week 4 home meeting with Kansas City between unbeaten AFC West teams. The Saints fell to 1–2. Their clearest lesson from this game was ball security late: sustaining drives was not enough when four possessions ended with the opponent holding the football.
