The unbeaten Minnesota Vikings host the 0–3 Miami Dolphins at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday, October 4. Kickoff is 4:05 p.m. EDT, or 3:05 p.m. CDT locally. Minnesota will pursue a 4–0 start without Justin Jefferson, who has been ruled out with an ankle injury.

Where to watch Dolphins at Vikings

FOX has the regional television broadcast, including KMSP in the Twin Cities. Kevin Kugler, Daryl Johnston and Allison Williams form the broadcast team. The game is assigned to selected markets, so check your local FOX listing instead of assuming every affiliate will show it. NFL+ subscribers in market can watch the live local game on phones and tablets; that is not an out-of-market TV stream.

Who is out, and who has no designation?

Minnesota out: receiver Justin Jefferson, cornerback Chuck Demmings and punter Brett Thorson.
Miami out: edge defender Rob Beale Jr., receiver Caleb Douglas and cornerback Storm Duck.
Minnesota linebacker Blake Cashman: full participation Friday and no game designation.

Friday’s report lists Duck as out despite full practice participation. The game designation, rather than practice participation alone, is what matters for this preview. Conversely, a rest day for Christian Darrisaw does not create an out designation.

Where Jefferson’s absence will be felt

Minnesota’s task is to distribute its passing-game work without assuming Jefferson’s targets transfer directly to one receiver. Jordan Addison supplied a long reception and a touchdown after Jefferson left the Tampa Bay game. That gives the Vikings a recent example of another receiver producing, not a guarantee of Sunday’s target share.

The offense is also adjusting without tight end Josh Oliver, who went on injured reserve earlier in the week. Receiving opportunities and blocking assignments are separate questions: a change in personnel can affect how an offense protects and runs even when the headline centers on a receiver.

Special teams are part of the matchup

With Thorson out, Johnny Hekker is again the Vikings’ punting option identified in the team’s preview. Returner Myles Price is coming off an 86-yard punt-return touchdown against Tampa Bay. Miami has its own return threat in Jaylen Wright, who averaged 37.0 yards on five kickoff returns through three games.

Those early-season return numbers describe a small sample; they do not predict another touchdown. The useful question is whether either team can change field position without needing a long offensive drive. Game-day inactives remain the next definitive availability checkpoint.
